Alone with my thumb – Childish Poem.

I screamed and I hollered

but no one came to see

what was going on here,

what was happening to me.

At last I paused to breathe

and listen just to see

if my noisy outburst

disturbed anyone but me.

It seemed I was alone

with my gloom and misery.

They were deaf downstairs, it seemed

To my woeful, childish plea.

So I sat and sucked my thumb.

the only comfort left for me.

It seemed throwing a tantrum

didn’t work at university.Ā

People are far too complicated to be able to describe in a few words so I am not even going to try.
