The Demise of the Daily Post Word Prompt

I find it so incredibly sad that the Daily Press is closing its doors. I will miss the Community pool and the First Friday thingy they did. Most of all though I will be absolutely bereft that they will no longer be doing the Word Prompt of the DAY!!!!!

I can’t let this demise happen, I rely so heavily on the word prompt for Inspiration and also for distribution….

I have access to a Random Word Generator, so What I plan to do is a couple of times a week post my own word prompt.

What do you think? Is this something you would be interested in taking part in?

If you want to take part, please let me know, and then reblog so it gets round to as many people as possible.

All the best

Kristian

People are far too complicated to be able to describe in a few words so I am not even going to try.

    1. Im upset too. That’s where i actually started communicating with people. What am i going to do.. and why do they have to shut it like that??

I don’t know. How would that be equal to daily prompt and the grid thing..its depressing

    2. Yes, it doesn’t really compare because the Daily prompt had hundreds of followers so you reach out to lots of people. I have left a comment on their post saying I hope they change their mind, maybe they will if enough people speak up.

  1. I would be interested for sure. I did not participate as much as I would have liked to but it is always a new day and a new start. I am sad to hear they are going away. The First Friday and Community Pool really helped me to build up a following.

    1. Yes, Me too. I also notice I get a lot more viewings on the posts that are connected to the word post, its a way of publicising your blog and reaching out to more people. A great shame. If I get enough responses though I will set a word prompt, possibly Mondays and Thursdays. It won’t have the wide outreach though. 🙂

  2. wait…what?! I just LITERALLY got back into my blog a few days ago, and I was utilizing the daily prompt to help me get into the habit of writing daily. This makes me sad, and yes, count me in! I have been connecting with other bloggers just because of the daily press!
