Courage lost – A short poem

From fearful fortunes of fate, we shield

Ourselves and those we love so dear.

We hide behind our doors all sealed

And wait for yet another year.

We alone create the peace we crave

We alone can fight the craven fear

Where are our warriors, so brave?

They are unknown, they are not here.

People are far too complicated to be able to describe in a few words so I am not even going to try.
