I have been nominated by https://aguycalledbloke.blog/ for a very interesting challenge “Ancient Authors”
See link below:
The rules are simple, as always:
- Choose the author or philosopher (it should be one from the Ancient Times). Don’t know anyone? Google it, It shouldn’t be so hard.
- Choose 3 quotes of this author/philosopher. The country of origin – doesn’t matter (Egypt, Greece…Italy). Add any info or explanation if you like.
- Share those quotes and nominate 3 to 6 people.
- The title for the post? Choose something cool.
OK my choice of Ancient Wise One is the great Marcus Aurelius.
He was actually a Roman Emperor but unlike other Roman emperors you may have heard of, like Caligula and Nero, he wasn’t a debauched power crazed deviant. He was actually a philosopher and very learned man who then became an Emperor and was an extremely beneficent and wise man.
Read all about him here:

My nominees:
As always, you do not have to take part if you don’t want to or are too busy. You can also save it for when yo1u have a free moment, if you’d rather.
And that will probably do. However if you see this, and fancy having a go then consider yourself nominated!
All the best
Excellent quotes my friend and in the words of your chosen “Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking.” What ever you yourself have chosen to do today, do it well 🙂

Out of coincidence, Marcus Aurelius is my featured philosopher for next week’s Friday Philosophy post 😊
