You can tell I am very fond of Lavender. Most of my plants are bee friendly and I’m proud to say I have lots of honey bees and bumble bees in there. Also lots of butterflies.
And these are my four hens.
The White one is called Angelica and the Brown one is called Adelaide.
I’ve had these just over a year and they are quiet, lovely hens and they lay almost every day.
The Black hen is called Maggie, short for Lady Margaret and the speckled hen on the right is Esmerelda. These two are new, I only got them 2 weeks ago and they are still settling in.
So, I hope you like my pictures. π
Beautiful!! Thanks for sharing πΉ

Thank you. I was lucky in that when I bought the house, the previous owners also had a lot of great bee friendly plants in. I only removed two plants that I didn’t like then put in more of my favourites, so I didn’t start from a blank canvas. π

Its beautiful. I could imagine sitting at a window, longingly looking out over that garden and dreaming of strolling through it in the evening, sipping coffee in the morning while sitting on the bench, reading a book on warm afternoons….but alas, it’d be a fleeting dream as we all know that I’m toxic to plant life. ππ₯

I’m jealous! I only had 4 plants grow this year and the cat slept on one today and ate the other.

Your garden is gorgeous! I love big fat lavender bushes, it always reminds me of my grandmaβs house. The chickens look like real characters. Iβd love to have chickens but βim indoors says no…..
I shall probably miss him a little π

LOL! I have always wanted Hens and actually they have been great pets, the only downside is the chicken droppings, but they can be used in the compost. π

Yes bird droppings are no fun – my parents had peacocks and they arenβt βdelicateβ shall we say!!

Kristian – thanks for the callout and for sharing your gorgeous garden pictures! I’m jealous! And…you have chickens! Nice! Do they keep the pesky bugs at bay? Happy garden growing to you!

Thank you. The chickens do eat a lot of the bugs and a few slugs too. They are really easy to keep, but they do make a lot of mess. The eggs are pretty nice too, and I know they have a good life. π
