100 word story – Grandpa’s enormous clock.

Joanna thought it hilarious that her grandfather kept such an enormous clock in his living room.

He’d never arrived on time for anything in his life.

He was late for her school play and late to pick her up from school.

Grandma said he was even late for their wedding.

She asked him, “Grandpa, why do you have such a large clock?”

He replied, “It’s to remind me that even though we put time on a pedestal and it looms large in our lives, we have to remember not to focus too much on it that we forget to live.”

People are far too complicated to be able to describe in a few words so I am not even going to try.

    1. That’s true. On the other side, you make others wait for you and some not so easy-going people resent having you waste their time. Sometimes the group can’t or on’t start until all members are present and people get grouchy or and/or hungry. I can see merit in both arguments.

  1. Something like the billionaire, framing the first dollar he ever earned and hanging it our wall. Only, In this case, its a negative reminder. Nice play on words using grandpa instead of grandfather.
