β€’ List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo on your post.

So here we go:

  1. Do you believe in true love?
  2. Summer or Winter?
  3. If you could travel anywhere in the world where would it be?
  4. Have you ever sat in your car and cried for no reason other than being sad?
  5. Science Fiction or Fantasy?
  6. If you could be any fantasy character what type would you be?
  7. If you discovered the secret to slowing down the aging process would you use it?
  8. Walking through the forest you come upon a large tree with a door in it, do you open the door?
  9. If you opened the door in the above question what did you find?
  10. If you did not open the door in question 8 why not?
  11. Favorite all time Halloween costume.

My answers as follows:

  1. Yes, I do. Call me an old softy, but I do believe in true love and love at first sight, but I also believe that it is not the be all and end all. If you find someone who makes you happy, then love can grow too. Don’t ditch it because you don’t think it’s true love and spend the rest of your life searching when you already had something great.
  2. Both Summer and Winter have the positives and negatives for me. My favourite season is Spring because it isn’t too hot nor too cold and everything is coming back to life, the daffodils and crocuses are flowering and often the promise of summer is better than its reality.
  3. I often dream that in my lifetime they could invent teleportation because I hate flying. I would love to visit the South Island of New Zealand. I’ve done the North Island but never the South. I would also like to visit Macchu Picchu, The Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls and Iceland…. to name just a few. πŸ™‚
  4. Yes. I sometimes find myself feeling sad for no apparent reason, but I try to focus on happy stuff or play my happy playlist (which I shared with you all on previous posts) to help shift my brain back into a more positive zone.
  5. I prefer fantasy fiction to Sci-Fi. I love anything to do with magic. Even Star Wars, which is a meld of the two genres I like because of ‘the force’ and the Jedi and Sith, which is pure fantasy in a Sci-Fi setting.
  6. I would always be the Wizard or Magic user. Even when I was a very young child I always wanted to be the Magic one with a beard. My cousin still reminds me that I would say “You can be the Warrior and I’ll be Merlin” when I was about six years old.
  7. Would I slow down the Ageing process if I could? Well if there were no repercussions, for example, looking younger but being in constant pain, then yes I would. It would be even better if I could share it would the people I love too. What’s the point in living forever if you constantly watch your loved ones die. If i could share it around, then Brilliant.
  8. Yep. I don’t think I could resist. Also, I love trees, so I would probably want to move in and live there.
  9. I found a home, with a library full of books and a kitchen and a note saying “I have left this place, please move in and look after it for me until I come back”.
  10. I did, I wouldn’t be able to cope with the constant ‘what if’ if I hadn’t opened it.
  11. Favourite all-time Halloween costume? I once went to a fancy dress party as a cross between a Vampire and Adam Ant – for those who don’t know who Adam Ant is I have included a link below. I remember getting served very quickly at the bar for the first (and last) time ever!

My Questions:

  1. Do you like Halloween?
  2. What method of murder do you most like to see in films/movies?
  3. Horror or Comedy?
  4. What’s your favourite thing to do with a pumpkin?
  5. If you could choose between ruling the world or living in paradise which would you choose?
  6. What human trait do you like the most?
  7. Which human trait do you dislike the most?
  8. If we discovered an inhabitable planet and had the option to start a new life there, would you?
  9. Do you believe in ghosts? If yes, have you had an experience you’d like to share?
  10. Have you ever had a recurring Nightmare? Share it with us, if so.
  11. If you had to remove either Halloween or Christmas from the calendar so no one could celebrate it ever again, which would you choose?

  1. Kristian, thank you for the nomination! I like your idea of a “happy tape” and plan on making one πŸ™‚ The video is perfect for Halloween. Hadn’t heard Adam Ant before. Excellent song.

  2. Thank you for the nomination Kristian! And as always I love your answers.

At this time I’m going to take a break from these types of posts on my blog – I want to focus more on my writing. Although once I get some things settled in my life I will probably partake again because they are so much fun. But right now they give me an excuse to not pursue some things I promised myself I would do – so I’m taking a break.

However, in the meantime I will answer a few of your questions here. First, I do like Halloween. I’m not really into the super scary stuff, but I’m a fantasy and supernatural fan so of course Halloween is fun. AND my favorite season is the Fall. I just love the whole fee of it and the changing of colors!. I would choose Comedy over Horror – I like to laugh. Gotta laugh to get through life! Favorite thing to do with a pumpkin – chuck it! haha – I really want to get one of those big pumpkin chucker slingshot things. But I also love to eat them and decorate with them. I am one of those pumpkin spice weirdos. And your last question – I can’t answer that one. How can you remove either of these holidays?!

  3. Hello Kristian….I have been working on a post in response to your lovely nomination for the Sunshine Blogger Award…but I don’t think I can publish it without offending some people. It’s along of lines of what I really think of Halloween and what I really think on the subject of ghosts…and I don’t pull any punches!

I wondered if you could do the sweetest favour for me and throw at me three different questions to replace 1, 9 and 11 pretty please?
If I publish the post as it is I reckon I am going end up with every spirit medium in the world trolling me! It’s just not an area I want to have anything to do with and I don’t even want to bring these subjects up on my blogsite.

If you saw the answers I had typed out I am sure you would agree that it is probably best that I keep my opinions to myself and don’t tread on horror/paranormal fan’s toes.

Although I try to be myself on my site…I don’t want to go out there with my boxing gloves!

    1. It was the ending that made me nearly choke on my cup of tea though…
“I’m nostalgic for the days when Hallowe’en was a non-event. It was more wholesome when we stuck to our simple tradition of Bonfire Night instead. Yes, kids, go out and celebrate the . . . ahem . . . torturing, hanging and quartering of the gunpowder plotters, their body parts distributed to the four corners of the kingdom. Much more respectable.”
