The Word: REAPER.
Through the labyrinth of your mind
To the depths of your soul,
You’ll find life easier if you’re kind,
Whatever your destiny or your goal.
As you wend your way through life,
Sow seeds of love as you go,
For life can be full of fun or strife,
But you tend to reap more of what you sow.
In humility bow your head,
The reaper comes to take you,
To the final lands of the dead,
From where your soul returns anew.

Maybe I’m being too serious, but this makes me think of the ACE scores: the adverse childhood experience score. How does a child who grows up in a house with addiction or alcoholism or domestic violence or very sick parent or parent who dies or parent who abandons them fit into “you shall reap what you sow?” And to tell them to be “nice” — how were they supposed to learn THAT behavior with that childhood?
I say to them, you survived your childhood. You had to learn certain defenses to survive. Now that you are an adult, you may be able to slowly change those defenses.
And we need to help and treat the parents in order to help and treat the children…..

Yes, I think you are. There are always exceptions to the rule, but as a rule it is still the way to go.
