December Blues – A poem.

I’m feeling Chagrin,

Frigid and frozen rigid,

December is here,Β

But where is the cheer?

The shops are full

of pushy people

No good will

All shove and no love.

When will the Spirit of Christmas Appear?

Not this year.

People are far too complicated to be able to describe in a few words so I am not even going to try.

  1. Good one. Reminds me of being in a larger city. Here, our mall has maybe 10 shops in it, and no one shopping. The busiest place on Thanksgiving and Black Friday were Walmart and the grocery store lol.

  2. Your poem reflects exactly my emotions. I think this year I will do all my Christmas shopping online or in the craft shops near my home. I can no longer endure the “pushy people” and the Jingle Bells music in malls.

    1. I am determined to keep it simple this year. The things I always find that make Christmas are the traditions and seeing friends and family I don’t get to see much during the year. All the commercialism is terrible. However you spend your Christmas, I hope you have a fantastic one. πŸ™‚

    2. Thank you Kristian. This year, we will go to the chalet of my husband’s parents and we will ski for a week with the children. A very relaxing family Christmas with simple pleasures: natural decor, fireplace, chunky knit and hot chocolate. I need rest and that should make me feel better. I wish you happy holidays too.
