This poem was inspired by the following word prompts:
No Appetite for Ebullience
I’m not feeling so Ebullient,
My ‘get up and go’, got up and went,
I’m searching for some clarity,
Or failing that a bit of hilarity
A laugh is worth its weight in gold,
At least that’s what I’m often told,
But I have lost my oomf and appetite,
My ambition lost without a fight,
However, there is always hope,
And I’m sure that I’ll survive and cope.
There’s always tomorrow, Just wait and see.
For now, I’ll relax and have a nice cup of tea.
