“You may call me dainty,
But I have news for you,
I don’t want to be seen as saintly
I’m not a doll for you to view.
I’m no demure and proper lady.
Who likes whistles and cat-calls
I’m not coy or shy, I like D.I.Y
Have you seen my overalls?
Don’t dare pigeon hole me,
In your prim and sexist way,
I’m not dainty, not at all, see!
And that’s all I’ve got to say.”

Thank you. I wrote it with my Mum in mind. She hated being steryotyped and would wait until my Dad went away on business then do all the DIY jobs herself because she knew she’d do a better job. 🙂

Nice one. Not all women are prim and proper. Some of us like to get our hands dirty.

Indeed. My Mum was one of those. She liked to do all the DIY herself.
