I have seen other blogs do this and thought, what the hell, let’s have a go and see if it works out.
I don’t, however, commit to doing this every week, but if it’s useful, then I might.
Something that I hadn’t considered before is that looking back over what you’ve done over the past week can identify certain trends. For example, I seem to have written much more poetry this week than usual. I have always written more stories than poems in the past. Also, a lot of the poems are comedy ones, supposed to be funny. Of course, when you write comedy, you do so without any real knowledge if it is going to work. It isn’t funny until someone else laughs.
Also, being the week of Valentines, there are quite a few Valentines related poetry (but not of the soppy kind).

I like your poetry. My two favorites were A Letter from Beryl and the Macabre Valentines Day ones. Keep up the good work, Poet Kristian!

Bless you, thank you Li. Letter from Beryl is my current favourite, I couldn’t read it aloud without laughing. I know you should laugh at your own jokes, but I couldn’t help it. Lets see what next week brings. 🙂

I liked the links purely for selfish reasons: to discover which pieces were missing from my feed. Turned out there were several! The second part of Lighthouse and quite a few poems were new to me. I quite enjoyed them, especially the serious love poem. I did enjoy rereading the macabre one too…it’s probably my favorite of this bunch. So clever! And I agree this is a great photo. 🙂

Thanks Paula. It seems it is a worthwhile thing to do, from time to time then. I don’t think I will do it every week though… Its one of only a few photos where my face doesn’t look weird 😉

Thanks, I enjoy having the links in one post because it is easier to go back and read them in case you missed them earlier.
Cheers,
Carolyn

Thanks, Carolyn. I may do this recap thing more often then. I don’t tend to write much at weekends due to other committments so doing a recap post may be something for the weekend. 🙂

Letter From Beryl was my favourite too!
This is a good idea Kristian, but I always look for your posts in my WP Reader anyhows and try not to miss a thing.
You look very happy in your photo! Keep smiling 🙂

Thanks Mel. I know a few blogs that do a recap and I thought I would give it a go. The reaction has been quite positive so I will probably do the odd recap post again in the future, but probably not every week though.
I always smile when I have a nice glass of Gin in my hand. 😉

Ha ha! That explains it! I only found out Goldfinch is a gin drinker just before he left. He was always driving so never drank alcohol. But he said when he has the opportunity it is a G&T for him.

I’ve always liked a G&T I often drink tonic water as a soft drink on its own too. The one I was drinking in the picture was Whitley Neill Raspberry Gin. It was really nice.
