The cleaner thought “What kind of person would act so slovenly to leave their bed this way?” She found a used needle and other unsavoury items but she left the room looking tidy.
It wasn’t her fault. How was she to know it was the exhibit the gallery had paid a cool Million for?

π Thank you. I’m glad, I wanted it to be amusing. I remember when I was university they opened a modern art gallery and it was filled with weird stuff, like a dress woven from human hair (Yuck). The weirdest thing was in the centre of the room was a cardboard box lined with copper. I thought they’d left it there after taking an art exhibit out of it. It turned out the box WAS the exhibit! I don’t think modern art is for me. π

Your cardboard box story is even funnier.
I guess any mind of trash can be interpreted as modern art.
I am no expert but I think that things that are called art should be pretty.

Art should inspire emotion and visual beauty is the nicest way to do that. I can’t think what emotion an empty box could inspire…

Oh my gosh!!!! How funny! Reminds me of the woman who destroyed a masterpiece by trying to βfixβ it! Hereβs a link to that notorious debacle! Haha! https://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/art/9491391/Elderly-woman-destroys-19th-century-fresco-with-DIY-restoration.html

Oh Yes. They made a film about it that I saw, The town forgave her when tourism rocketed in the town because of it. π

Wow! Talk about Art defined as “in the eye of the beholder.” Just guessing that the cleaner will have a lot of free time to attend art appreciation classes.

Haha, Indeed. That part was based on Tracey Emin’s ‘art’ installation called Unmade Bed. π
