Naughty

The Word of the Day is Naughty

This word is quite interesting, because it’s meaning has changed over time (like a lot of words, I suppose). Nowadays this word often means something mischievous, a minor misdemeanour or infraction. It has almost morphed to become a synonym for ‘Cheeky’. Original this word was a lot stronger, meaning Wicked. Someone who has commited murder would be called ‘Naughty’ in a court of law!

Nowadays we’re naughty if we eat the last chocolate eclair πŸ˜‰

People are far too complicated to be able to describe in a few words so I am not even going to try.
