This poem was written for Kira’s Sunday Scribbles, see link below:
https://wordofthedaychallenge.wordpress.com/2019/04/28/kiras-sunday-scribbles-39/
With violet eyes like gimlets,
she flies across the sky,
looking down on all of us,
In splendour from on high.
Her gaze is far from friendly
she sees into men’s souls
and knows that caring for the planet
is far from our main goals.
Most humans pursue Money,
it is their first desire,
and the world can go on suffering,
it’s only cash that we require.
This vengeful maiden of the sun,
Knows that it’s us that is to blame,
So swift and nimble she shines on us
and we’ll soon perish in her flame.
