This poem was written in response to this great picture from Kira’s Sunday Scribbles.

It was a tale to be told,
A saga extreme,
Of a man who’d grown old,
And lived by a stream.
It was his secret escape,
His quiet retreat.
Then he met a mountain ape,
The one with big feet.
The giant lifted him up,
So tall and so lofty
and gave him a squeeze,
you might think him a softy.
Then to break all expectations,
Bigfoot swallowed him whole,
Despite the man’s protestations
He showed no control.
But he had his final revenge
And that’s without question
He gave that poor ape
Terrible indigestion.
