To commemorate this event, I have written this poem. π
We are having a giant bake sale, in our neighbourhood.
Auntie Gladys has made her carrot cake
Who knew carrots could taste so good?
And while itβs a Hot July and weβre in a summer sizzle,
What could be more fitting than a slice of Daveβs Lemon Drizzle?
While I enjoy the sunshine, the heat’s been a bit extreme,
So Iβm enjoying a slice of cake smothered in Ice-Cream.
Itβs great to get together and share what weβve all been making,
In this sweltering summer heat, itβs us that have been baking!
I wonβt moan too much though, itβs winter soon for goodness sake,
So my final message to you all is let them all eat cake. π

Thanks you, Punam π Glad you like it. I wrote it when we were having a heat wave a few weeks back, the weather’s not quite sizzling now. Typical British summer π lol

Carrot cake is a fave of mine–it’s probably the only way carrots taste good π

π π Although I do recall one time, I cooked them in butter with ginger and they weren’t terrible…though cake is preferable π

Sounds nice. I like to boil them to death and add them to mashed potato, that way they are bearable. Cake is definitely better. π

PS: how many carrots to how many potatoes?? I don’t want it overly carrot-y π

I would probably use 2 small/medium carrots to 2 large potatoes. π
