The Word of the Day is Lukewarm,
I have often wondered who Luke was and why he has come to be immortalised in this word…..
I hope you enjoy using this word in a story or a poem.
Today’s Word of the Day is Lukewarm.

Lukewarm – not hot and not cold.
Tepid’s a good word, I’m told,
Between you and me,
It’s a pleasure to be
In a place where the heat is controlled.

Oh, I quite agree. I’m not a fan of being too hot. For all its faults I find the UK climate not at all bad.

From the late 70s to the mid-80s I lived in Dubai for five years and Tanzania for two years. Loved the heat then. Now, after (so far) five lots of surgery to remove skin cancers, I’m beginning to wish I hadn’t liked it quite as much.

Oh dear. That is a reckoning! I’ve lived in Australia for a short while but I never adjusted to living in the heat.
