The Word of the Day today is FREE and I remembered this poem I wrote a couple of years ago, inspired by this beautiful picture by Kira.

I was betrayed;
You never stayed
On an altar of false dreams
I sacrificed myself, it seems.
Our connection died
Our love cast aside.
Your intimate touch
That I loved so much,
Was a passing passion
A fleeting fashion,
Smitten
Now bitten,
Yearning,
Burning,
In a heap.
Love may be free,
but it’s never cheap.
