Twittering Tales – Barely believable

As they drove along the quiet forest road, Dorothy was startled to see something waving ahead. She’d seen hitch-hikers before but not like this one.

A huge bear was waving her down!

She considered herself a nature lover so she decided to stop.

What’s the worst that could happen?

Twittering Tales: The Legacy

When Grandad died, he left a note and a key.

It said, “In my trunk in the attic is the world greatest treasure.”

They wondered, Is it a load of cash or some arcane knowledge?

When they opened it, inside was only a clock, a subtle message to enjoy life while they can as time flies.

Twittering Tales – Conquering the Dragon

Mashup of photos by pendleburyannette (dragon) & MichaelGaida (forest) at Pixabay.com

It was a crazy initiation,

Fight the dragon, impress the nation,

but something sporadic, unplanned,

Happened that shocked the land.

They sent a novice, a raw beginner

But oddly, he returned the winner

He didn’t fight, attack or defend,

He talked to the Dragon and made him a friend.

They’d been stuck on the island for seven years. At first, they’d hated each other. She thought he had a massive chip on his shoulder and he thought she was terribly stuck up.

It was only when the helicopter came to rescue them, did they realise they never wanted to be apart.

She sat under an umbrella, her pale body sheathed in fine linen with bare skin smothered in sun-cream.

She gazed at the young and foolish who camp out burning in the full sun.

A few laughed at the young girl covered from head to toe.

She had the last laugh; she was nearly fifty.

It was a beautiful spot; Couples arrived at the secluded pool through a candle-lit passage. He’d had to scout hard to find the opening at the top.

Since she’d rejected him, he’d planned his revenge. The click of the trigger echoed in that bowl-shaped hollow. So did the screams.

Twittering Tales: A Nighttime Drive

The engine gave a sputter as Geoff drove into his garage. He shouldn’t drive in the dark, but the streets weren’t safe for walking.

At one point he’d felt a bump and thought he heard someone screaming for him to stop, likely a carjacker. He wasn’t going to make that mistake.

Twittering Tales – “Cutting Words”

Cutting Words

The Anaesthetic hadn’t worked. She was aware of lying naked while a doctor made an irreverent, downright vulgar remark about her breasts. Being bashful, this was mortifying.

Then, without any finesse, the surgeon sliced her open and she heard him say. “That’s not right at all!”

Twittering Tales – Broken Empathy

Her instinct told her something was wrong. Then she saw the white powdered glass, like snow that glittered on the path, then the broken window.

What hurt most was the message written in ink across her white kitchen tiles that showed a lack of empathy.

“Thanks for the hospitality”.

Sneaking downstairs she opened the fridge and gazed at the verdant, healthy food.

“Damn this diet” she whispered.

Then, spying a wedge of Cheese she grabbed it and was about to eat it when she saw her daughter staring.

“I’m lucky you’re there, Sweetie. You saved me from myself”.
