Bloggers Recognition Award Nomination.

Well, I am proud, over the moon and chuffed to bits to have been nominated for this award by a blogger that I have such high regard for, who I have collaborated with a number of times writing several poems; Beckie of Beckie’s Mental Mess.

Blogger Recognition Award

The Rules:

1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
2. Write a post to show your award.
3. Give a brief story of how your blog started.
4. Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
5. Select 15 other bloggers for this award.
6. Comment on each blog to let them know you’ve nominated them and a link to the post you created.

How my Blog Started.

Well, It all began back in March 2018. It was on the 7th of March to be precise. I have been writing stories and poems for years but I had never shared my work or sought feedback before. For a Christmas Present, some friends bought me a 6-week creative writing course at the CityLit college in London. Having enrolled on this course I found that my urge to write became insatiable. Before I wrote once in a while but after I started writing daily. It was like an explosion. I decided that I needed to have a place to put all the stuff coming out of my mind. I entered a competition and I didn’t get anywhere but in the feedback, I was given a link to WordPress. I am naturally a bit of a technophobe but I had a go and created my blog. I have not looked back since. It has been a wonderful experience and I wish I had started much earlier. The blogging community has been really helpful and supportive. I have made some excellent blogging pals.

Since then I have written a lot of short stories and lots of poems. In the last few months, I have slowed down a bit and am not currently blogging as much but I hope that with the energy that comes with the New Year, I will start writing more again.

Advice or Guidance

  1. Blog about something that you love and just keep going, followers will come.
  2. Don’t worry if you can’t keep up with the rate of other bloggers. Write when you can and when you feel like it.

My Nominees:

This is always the bit I find hard, not because of a lack of people I think deserve it, it’s because there are SO many wonderful bloggers out there putting their heart and soul into everything they do that it is difficult to choose.

My thoughts are that if you are reading this then please consider yourself nominated. You Deserve it.

And also, as we draw near, I hope you have a lovely Christmas or whatever way you spend the darkest days of Winter.

Blogger Recognition Award Nomination :-)

I am really pleased to have been nominated for another Blogging recognition award, this time by Dr Tanya of Salted Caramel, see her post below:

https://saltedcaramel670.wordpress.com/2019/06/10/blogger-recognition-award/

and don’t forget to check out her blog and say Hi from me. 🙂

AWARD RULES

  • Thank the nominator, and publish a post on your blog about receiving the Blogger Recognition Award. Make sure to provide a link to the nominator’s blog in your post.
  • Give a brief story of how your blog started.
  • Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
  • Nominate 10-15 other bloggers for this award, and inform them of their nomination.

How I started:

I started blogging in March 2018, having had no experience of blogging whatsoever.

Since childhood, I have been writing stories and creating imaginary worlds with great enthusiasm that I have never lost. In January 2018 I attended a six-week creative writing course in the City Lit Academy in London, and this really opened up the floodgates of my creative mind. Instead of writing something now and then, I began writing something every single day. I found the experience both daunting and inspiring. Having my writing read and commented on by my fellow writers was an experience that I found really helpful to me.  It made me want to share my material with an even wider audience. I also wanted somewhere to keep my written material. I decided to write a blog.

I called it Tales from the Mind of Kristian because that is what it really is. It is the creative brain burps of my mind. I am happy to share them with you. What’s to dislike? 😉

I hope you like them, anyway.

Two pieces of advice for new bloggers.

  1. Trust in yourself and your own ability. Blog about what you love.
  2. Keep doing it. The more you write the better it will get.

Blogger Recognition Award Nomination

I am very proud and pleased as punch to have been nominated for this blogger recognition award by the lovely Laura Venturini of Lauravent69 blog. Check out her post here:

I have always had an interest in creative writing and have enjoyed writing fantasy stories and the odd poem. In January 2018 I attended a six-week creative writing course in the City Lit Academy in London, and this really opened up the floodgates of my creative mind. Instead of writing something now and then, I began writing something every single day. I found the experience both Awesome and awe-inspiring. Having my writing read and commented on by my fellow writers was an experience that I found really helpful to me. It helped to dispel any sense of lack of self-worth. It made me want to share my material with an even wider audience. I also wanted somewhere to keep my written material. I decided to write a blog.

I called it Tales from the Mind of Kristian because that is what it really is. It is the creative brain burps of my mind. I am happy to share them with you.

I hope you like them.

Two pieces of advice for new bloggers.

  1. Do what you love, write what you love, as long as you love it and are enjoying it, what everyone else thinks is really not important.
  2. Keep doing it. The more you write the better it will get.

So what is blogger recognition award?

Blogger Recognition Award is given to bloggers by bloggers to encourage and acknowledge the hard work and effort that goes into creating posts. It’s an opportunity for bloggers to recognize one another for each of our contributions to their blog and the blogging community!

 Rules.

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  • Write a post to show your award.
  • Give a brief story of how your blog got started.
  • Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
  • Select 5 other bloggers to nominate.

How I started.

  • I wanted to know if I could write.
  • I wanted to share what I had written with others and see if they liked what I had written.
  • I wanted somewhere to collect all the stories that I had in my head.

I have had some lovely feedback from my fellow bloggers that suggests that they enjoy the stories and poems that I write. I have steadily increased the number of followers and I hope that they continue to burgeon over the coming months and years. I am thrilled, not that I’m blowing my own brass instrument (trumpet) that my followers have reached 559!!!

I had no experience in blogging whatsoever and so have really just stuck to what I know best, channelling my imagination and creating stories. That seems to be paying off.

I did not expect to find so many lovely blogging friends and colleagues along the way. Thank you for making the blogging experience so rewarding. 🙂

Advice

I have given advice before but it basically is always the same.

  1. Blog about what you love and keep doing it.
  2. Engage with other bloggers, you’ll make friends and allies. The community is very supportive.

My Nominees

This is the bit I always find so very difficult because there are some amazing blogs out there and they have all helped and supported me. There are also a lot of Non award blogs out there,  like Fandango and The Ceaseless Reader Writes, who if they were not non-award sites, I would have nominated them for lots of awards in the past.

I would also like to thank these two bloggers below in particular for each being like a mentor to me.

End of Days

A Trip In The Waaay Back Machine? No Thanks!

They are all extraordinary in their own unique way but here are my nominees this time.

How my Blog Started.

Well, I have written about this before, see here:

https://talesfromthemindofkristian.wordpress.com/2018/07/22/the-bloggers-recognition-award-nomination/

To summarize.

  • Always loved writing
  • Did a creative writing course that was like throwing petrol on the fire of my creativity
  • Saw a link to WordPress
  • Started Blogging
  • Loved every minute of it.

Advice

Well, I am no expert. I don’t really know what I am doing and I am not the type to plan things in advance. I just wanted somewhere to put all the stories and poems that I had floating around in my head. This seemed the best way to do it. I am just grateful that people have stopped by my blog, read what I have done and liked it and left helpful comments. There is plenty of advice out there about how to build up your blog, but two things I will say is:

  • The key is to write about something you love.
  • If it starts to become a chore then take a break.

My Nominees:

There are so many wonderful blogs out there that I enjoy reading, quite a few have decided to become non-award sites

Like Denny at

https://theceaselessreaderwrites.wordpress.com/

and

Granonine at

https://lindaswritingblog.wordpress.com/

And others I can mention like, The Haunted Wordsmith, Crushed Caramel, Bitchin’ in the Kitchen, A Guy Called Bloke, The Floating Thoughts, Novus Lectio, Esther Chilton, Melanie B Cee, Kristian at Life Lessons from Around the Dinner Table, Cyranny’s Cove and Dee Kelly from Thriving not Surviving, to name but a few.

I also don’t want this to become a burden to anyone.

Basically, If you read my posts, and you want to take part in this award, particularly if you haven’t done it before, then YOU ARE NOMINATED.

🙂

Thank you and have a nice rest of your Sunday,

blogger_award

Well I am proud, over the moon and chuffed to bits to have been nominated for this award by a blogger that I have such high regard for. A Guy Called Bloke writes one of the most eclectic and entertaining blogs that I have found on WP. He is also highly prolific.
