My 4 Year Blogging anniversary!

Happy Anniversary with WordPress.com!

You registered on WordPress.com 4 years ago.

Thanks for flying with us. Keep up the good blogging.

Today I had this message from WordPress.

Has it really been 4 years? Time creeps by like a time traveller with a dual personality seeming both to pass by swiftly and also to take its time.

4 years feels simultaneously like a lifetime and a moment.

I look back at some of the stories and poems i’ve written over the past 4 years with some pride but also some sadness. Did I cover myself with glory, or just waste my time?

If something I’d written entertained or was enjoyed by just one person, then it was worth it.

I will keep on keeping on.

Thank you

My 3 Year anniversary on WordPress.

3 Year Anniversary Achievement

Happy Anniversary with WordPress.com! You registered on WordPress.com 3 years ago.

Thanks for flying with us. Keep up the good blogging.

I have received a message from WordPress wishing me a Happy Anniversary.

It was three years ago today that I started my Blog.

I had just begun a creative writing course and I wanted an outlet for my writing, I’d read an article that mentioned WordPress and this seemed like fate was giving me a nudge.

I am a bit of a technophobe and yet WordPress made it all easy.

It’s been a strange journey the last three years but I have come so far.

I admit that my initial energy has turned rather lukewarm and I am not writing as much lately, but I do hope that this changes soon and I start getting into a better routine with more time for writing.

I will be posting some of my earliest posts. It will be interesting to see if my writing style has developed at all 🙂

Thank you to all my followers for joining me on my journey.

<count>2</count> Year Anniversary Achievement

Happy Anniversary with WordPress.com!
You registered on WordPress.com 2 years ago.

I would like to say a bit thank you to all my blogging pals and to WordPress itself,
Thanks for Everything!

The Decade Tag – Ten Years is 64 in dog years.

I am honoured to have been nominated by Stuart, of the blog Something to Stu Over, to take part in this Decade tag challenge. Click on the link to see his post:

https://stubaby777.wordpress.com/2020/01/10/the-decade-tag/

To play along:

1- Please share a link to the creator of the tag- jesusluvsall.wordpress.com

2- Share some highlights for you over the past decade and if you want, a few low points

3- Tag whoever you wish to.

4- Ask them some questions

5- Use any picture appropriate for such a tag.

The questions:

1. What is the most important lesson you have learned in the past ten years?

  • I’m still learning it – it’s to accept that life is a mixed bag and to enjoy the good while it’s happening rather than waiting for things to be perfect because things are NEVER perfect.

2. Can you share a moment where you were laughing so hard you had tears in your eyes?

  • Those moments are ‘in the moment’ and never sound funny when explained, they just happen. That’s life.

3. How many jobs have you had in the past ten years?

  • I have only worked for two organisations in that time but have had a variety of roles, I am shortly embarking on the new experience of managing staff, something which I have managed to avoid so far in my career.

4. Where do you see yourself ten years from now?

  • Not much different to now, I would hope I have formed new and meaningful friendships but also it is likely that a few of my nearest and dearest will no longer be around. Career-wise, it would be nice to have progressed further and it would be nice to have progressed in my writing to the point where I have published some stories and poems. That would be great.

Ten years apart, Have I aged much?

So would you like to have a go of the challenge? – If you want to, please feel free. 🙂

My questions for you:

  1. Where would you like to be, location-wise, in 10 years time?
  2. What has happened in the last ten years that has surprised you the most?
  3. What do you think the next ten years will be remembered for?
  4. What lessons have you learned in the last 10 years?

Bloggers Recognition Award Nomination.

Well, I am proud, over the moon and chuffed to bits to have been nominated for this award by a blogger that I have such high regard for, who I have collaborated with a number of times writing several poems; Beckie of Beckie’s Mental Mess.

Blogger Recognition Award

The Rules:

1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
2. Write a post to show your award.
3. Give a brief story of how your blog started.
4. Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
5. Select 15 other bloggers for this award.
6. Comment on each blog to let them know you’ve nominated them and a link to the post you created.

How my Blog Started.

Well, It all began back in March 2018. It was on the 7th of March to be precise. I have been writing stories and poems for years but I had never shared my work or sought feedback before. For a Christmas Present, some friends bought me a 6-week creative writing course at the CityLit college in London. Having enrolled on this course I found that my urge to write became insatiable. Before I wrote once in a while but after I started writing daily. It was like an explosion. I decided that I needed to have a place to put all the stuff coming out of my mind. I entered a competition and I didn’t get anywhere but in the feedback, I was given a link to WordPress. I am naturally a bit of a technophobe but I had a go and created my blog. I have not looked back since. It has been a wonderful experience and I wish I had started much earlier. The blogging community has been really helpful and supportive. I have made some excellent blogging pals.

Since then I have written a lot of short stories and lots of poems. In the last few months, I have slowed down a bit and am not currently blogging as much but I hope that with the energy that comes with the New Year, I will start writing more again.

Advice or Guidance

  1. Blog about something that you love and just keep going, followers will come.
  2. Don’t worry if you can’t keep up with the rate of other bloggers. Write when you can and when you feel like it.

My Nominees:

This is always the bit I find hard, not because of a lack of people I think deserve it, it’s because there are SO many wonderful bloggers out there putting their heart and soul into everything they do that it is difficult to choose.

My thoughts are that if you are reading this then please consider yourself nominated. You Deserve it.

And also, as we draw near, I hope you have a lovely Christmas or whatever way you spend the darkest days of Winter.

Weekly Song Challenge – Round 36

Hello, All!  It’s Monday and that means, Laura, of “Lauravent69”, is throwing her Weekly Song Challenge – Round 36

Rules:

Copy rules and add to your own post, pinging back to this post.

Post music videos for your answers to the musical questions.

Tag two people to participate!

Easy!

I was tagged by my friend, Beckie, of Beckie’s Mental Mess, click on this link to check out her post:

Weekly Song Challenge – Round 36

1. Post a song that is a satire of a hit song.

You can’t beat Weird Al for parodies, so here he is singing Like a Surgeon.

2. Post a song that you love by an artist that was not one of their biggest hits.

Donna Summer, famous for ‘I Feel Love’, ‘Love to Love you Baby’ and ‘Hot Stuff’ here is a lesser-known song, ‘I Remember Yesterday‘ something that’s becoming more of a challenge for me as I get older …… 🙂

3. Post a song that was featured in a tv show or in a movie.

How about Top Gun and Take My Breath Away by Berlin? – In fact, if you take the scenes with this song playing out of the movie, it only leaves about 35 minutes of screen time. 😉

Hope you enjoyed this selection.
