The Real Neat Award Nomination

I have been nominated for the real neat award by Sadje of the blog Keep it Alive, click below for the link:

My first Real Neat Award

The rules for the real neat blog award

  • Display the award logo.
  • Thank the blogger who nominated you and post a link to their blog.
  • Answer the questions from the blog who nominated you.
  • Nominate seven to ten bloggers.
  • Ask them seven questions.

So big thanks to Sadje for nominating me for this, I very much appreciate it 🙂

Sadje’s Questions:

  1. Where does blogging fits in your daily life?
  2. Have you ever tried to do;
    • a) Paragliding?
    • b) Horse riding?
    • c) Deep-sea diving?
  3. Do you celebrate your birthday?
  4. If you have free time at hand, would you go for a walk or a long drive?
  5. Your best friend calls in the middle of the night and asks you to meet them at a deserted place, will you go? BTW, this friend has known to pull pranks!

My Answers:

  1. Since starting my full-time job in May I have struggled to keep my blog going. I don’t blog as much as I used to, but I still manage to maintain a presence on the blogosphere and write some short stories and poems. I think if something means a lot to you, you will fit it in somehow, but you have to be realistic, there are only so many hours in the day.
  2. No, No and No. I have done some snorkelling in the past but I would rather go for a walk in the park or a trip to a museum than any of these activities.
  3. Yes and No. I usually celebrate my birthday on the closest Saturday to my actual birthday, but I don’t do anything big, like have a huge party. An afternoon tea or a trip to see a show, that would be enough.
  4. I’d go for a walk, or do some more blogging, or maybe go for a long drive in order to find a suitable place to go for a walk.
  5. I would ask a lot of clarification questions of my friend, before taking the plunge and go to meet them. I rarely go out in the middle of the night and I’d need a very good reason for it. Being my Best friend, they would know that.

Questions for my nominees:

  1. When were you last surprised, what happened?
  2. If you were to put together a time capsule that encapsulated your life right now, what three things would you put in it?
  3. If you could drive in any direction, what direction would you drive in?
  4. If you could choose a new name for yourself, what name would you choose?
  5. Would you prefer to live in a world where alcohol was free or where politicians were honest?
  6. What song would you play at a party in order to encourage people to leave?
  7. Who was a really good role model for you when you were a child?

So those are the questions. I’d like to nominate:

Pop the Positive – Time to be Happy

I have been nominated for this challenge by Melanie Bee Cee of Sparksfromacombustiblemind.

https://sparksfromacombustiblemind.com/2019/09/20/pop-ticklish-thurs/

The challenge was initiated by my Pal Beckie of Beckie’s Mental Mess.

“Pop of Positivity” aka “POP!” Debut and Test Run: Time To Be Happy

Beckie states:

“Pop of Positivity”

“Pop of Positivity”   It’s based on one simple thing.  “Life doesn’t have to suck all the time.”  Let’s face it… There is a Helluva lot of negativity in the real world, and it’s pretty hard to escape it.  I thought of this as a means to brighten up everyone’s day from thinking negatively for a moment out of their day.  Perhaps, share some smiles along the way too.

Rules:

  1. Each Thursday, I’ll pick a Theme (Naturally something positive).

  2. I will, therefore, Tag Two Bloggers to continue the themed positive message along.

  3. You, the recipient of the tag can select anyway fit on how you want to share this positivity.  (Example: Quote, Affirmation, Music Video, Memes, Pictures, etc… As long it sticks to the Theme).

  4. Please create a ping-back to the original post (Beckie’s), as well as notifying your tagged bloggers that you have selected them.

Fairly easy, right?  Let’s say we give this a shot, okay?

Topic: Time To Be Happy”

So here I go:

“There isn’t much more positive than watching the Sunrise on a brand new day, feeling like there is a world of opportunity out there ready and waiting for you to grab it.”

You could be positive about winning the lottery….

But watching my chickens pecking around my garden gives me more pleasure than Gold.

Enjoying all the plants and flowers in my garden, that always puts me in a positive mood. IMG_3724

Of course, a bit of meditation is always nice….

But I find dancing around to cheesy music gives me a lift (even if the pictures blurry).

Maybe I should relax more and do a bit of Yoga on the beach….

But then again, maybe not. I’ll just enjoy staring at this picture of a sunflower instead. 😉

So, if you fancy taking up the baton and sharing some pictures of what makes you feel happy and positive, then please go right ahead.

The Inspiration Award – An emotional end to an emotional week. :-)

My Blogging friend, Beckie of Beckie’s Mental Mess, has nominated me for this absolutely brilliant award. I am thrilled and chuffed to bits. It has really been quite an emotional week for me and being nominated for this award is just fantastic. I saved posting this especially until tonight to round off my week on a positive note.

Check out Beckie’s post here:

The Inspiration Award

The Inspiration Award

The Inspiration Award was created by John of The Eclectic Contrarian – this is how he describes the Award itself.

“The Inspiration Award: The Inspiration Award is a token of appreciation to blog authors who have inspired you, your blog, artistic influence, and writing.”

The Guidelines

You may use the picture above as you have received the Award.

There’s no limit on how many or few you wish to award. Simply appreciate those who have inspired you!

I hope this is a blessing and everyone participates. But it’s not mandatory.

Who shall I nominate for this award?

Well a blogger who has always inspired me is the Britchy one,

A Lesson From 9/11

Also, Rory, A guy called bloke, but he’s been nominated already, so I’ll just give him an honorary mention.

Stoner on a Rollercoaster was one of my first followers and has always been an inspiration as a brilliant artist and writer but also in how she encourages others.

https://stoneronarollercoaster.wordpress.com/2019/09/13/hey-everyone/

Also, Punam of Paeansunplugged has always been very encouraging with positive comments that keep me blogging.

https://paeansunpluggedblog.wordpress.com/2019/09/13/the-process-if-any/

As Beckie said, there are too many people to name, basically everyone one who has visited and commented on my blog, has inspired me to keep blogging.

Thank you, everyone. 🙂

And once more, thank you to Beckie, who has collaborated with me on three poems now and has been a great blogging friend and given me much encouragement.

I’m absolutely thrilled and tickled pink to have been nominated for this award by my great blogging pal, Beckie, of Beckie’s Mental Mess. Please check out her post here, and while you’re there, say Hi and look round her blog.

Mystery Blogger Award #8

Now, what’s the Mystery Blogger Award?

“It’s an award for amazing bloggers with ingenious posts. Their blog not only captivates; it inspires and motivates. They are one of the best out there, and they deserve every recognition they get. This award is also for bloggers who find fun and inspiration in blogging, and they do it with so much love and passion.”

OKOTO ENIGMA

https://www.okotoenigmasblog.com/my-greatest-creation-yet/

Rules:

  1.  Put the award logo/image on your blog
  2. List the rules
  3. Thank whoever nominated you and provide a link to their blog
  4. Mention the creator of the award and provide a link as well
  5. Answer the 5 questions you were asked
  6. Tell your readers 3 things about yourself
  7. You have to nominate 10 – 20 people ( 6 )
  8. Notify your nominees by commenting on their blog
  9. Ask your nominees any 5 questions of your choice; with one weird or funny question (specify)
  10. Share a link to your best post(s).

Three things about me:

  1. I live in the same county that I was born in, although I have lived in other places.
  2. I have never been to the Continent of America.
  3. I take my tea bags and often a teapot with me on trips abroad (and sometimes trips away in this country too)

Questions from Beckie:

  1. What are your aspirations in life? – I wanted to have a nice home, a nice partner and chickens, enough money to live on and some outlet for my creativity. How did I do? well, I do have a nice home and chickens and I have a creative outlet in the form of my blog, so not too bad.
  2. If you had $5000, what charity would you donate it to? – I would probably split it between a number of charities that I’d like to support. Macmillan is a charity that supports people diagnosed with Cancer and that is something I would support. I would also give to Cancer Research UK, they look into ways to cure cancers or improve current treatment. I would also give something to help the Elderly, we have a charity called Age UK, so that would be good, then at the other end of the spectrum, help the children is a great charity too. There are so many charitable causes that are very worthy so it’s hard to choose but those are my four. They’d get $1250 each.
  3. What is your favorite kind of music to chill out to? – I’ve posted about my relaxing music before, it’s mainly classical or instrumental. Albatross by Fleetwood Mac is one of my favourites, along with Morning by Edvard Grieg.
  4. How would you rate your experience on WordPress?  1 being lowest, 10 being highest. – Overall OK, 7 or 8. The Tygpress thing was definitely a low point, but it is an easy to use blog, otherwise, I wouldn’t be here. So I do thank WordPress for creating an easy to use and inexpensive blogging system.
  5. Have you gained real friendships through blogging? – I have definitely made friends, if by friends you mean people who you love to hear from and miss when you don’t hear from them for a while. I miss Teresa, The Haunted Wordsmith and my friend, the Britchy One. I love to hear from my friend Beckie and also Rory, A Guy Called Bloke. Lots of lovely people on here.

Questions from me:

  1. If you were offered £/$ 100,000 to sleep in a haunted house, would you? How would you cope?
  2. What was your favourite show as a kid?
  3. Do you have any weird habits?
  4. If money didn’t matter, what would you do with your life
  5. What is your favourite thing about yourself?

I would like to nominate anyone who has read this post and would like to answer the questions. Go ahead, be my guest.

🙂

Three Things About Myself

  1. I keep chickens – IMG_3740
  2. I love gardens and nature
  3. I detest coffee.

5 Questions from Dr Tanya:

  1. How old is your blog now? – I started my blog on the 7th of March 2018 so it is about a year and a half old now. I don’t normally stick at something for as long as this, so I’m quite proud that I am still blogging.
  2. What do you enjoy most about blogging? – I like the fact that the possibilities are endless, you can write about anything you like, travel, films, books or write your own poetry or stories, like I do. I enjoy the fact that I write something, put it on my blog and share it with other like minded souls. I have also enjoyed the genuine friendliness and the support I have found from other bloggers.
  3. How important do you think Social Media is for the success of a blog? – Apart from the fact that the blog is a kind of Social media, I don’t find social media that important. The only social media I am on, is facebook and that doesn’t have a link to WordPress anymore and very few people visit my blog from facebook, most are already on WordPress.
  4. How would you define a successful blog? In other words, what do think a successful blog looks like? – A successful blog is one that meets the purpose of the person who is writing it. It can look like anything at all.
  5. Funny/Weird Question: if you were a superhero, what superpower would you like to have and what would you do with it? – Oh, I’ve thought about this one and for me I would love the ability to teleport to anywhere and to be able to take someone with me. I’d visit friends in Australia and go to some places I’d never been.

I would like to share a link to this post, it was the latest poem I wrote in collaboration with Beckie, of Beckie’s Mental Mess:

https://talesfromthemindofkristian.wordpress.com/2019/08/11/on-travelling-the-finished-poem-a-collaboration-between-myself-and-beckie-of-beckies-mental-mess/

My Questions:

  1. If you could be a flavour of Ice Cream which one would you be and why?
  2. If you could change one thing in history, and only one, what would it be?
  3. What is the greatest advice you’ve ever been given?
  4. If you could have anything for your last meal, what would you choose?
  5. If you could be a character in a book, which one would you be?

So those are my questions, who shall I choose to nominate?
