I am absolutely thrilled to have been nominated for this award by Sadje of the blog Keep it Alive, check out their post here:

Ideal Inspiration Blogger Award

Thank you, Sadje, much appreciated. 🙂

The Rules;

• Thank the person who has nominated you and provide a link back to his/her blog.

• Answer their questions.

• Nominate up to 9 other bloggers and ask them 5 new questions.

• Notify the nominees through their blog by visiting and commenting on their blog.

• List the rules and display the “Ideal Inspiration Blogger Award” logo.

• Provide the link to the Award creator, as Rising Star from (It’s all about Inspiration).

Ideal Inspiration Blogger Award is a non-official Award to the bloggers as a reward of wonderful work on their blogs. It’s just as important because it really reflects the good impact we can have on other people’s lives. Awards are important for the inspiration, towards the success of our fellow bloggers and especially newbie’s to become future “Stars“.

Sadje’s Questions;

  1. How much time do you allocate to your blog, daily?

I used to blog much more frequently than I do now. I try to blog for an hour or so in the evenings but now I feel so tired all the time, I’m lucky if I blog something every few days now.

2. Do you feel positive about the future of written blogs?

I think blogging is here to stay. There are some amazing blogs out there on the blogosphere, some truly inspirational people.

3. What is more important to you regarding your blog;

I like to get views and likes and comments, but I blog because I need to write something now and then. I have found that there is a wonderful and encouraging blogging community that even when I don’t feel much like blogging, they keep me coming back.

4. What types of blogs you are more likely to read?

Creative writing blogs, mainly, but I also enjoy blogs that make you think.

5. How do you think a blogger can inspire others in the blogosphere?

Inspiration can come from anywhere; if a blogger writes then that will inspire others. It is also good to read, like and encourage others.

My Questions

  1. Do you find you are more creative at certain times of the day?
  2. What particularly inspires you?
  3. What do you find challenges you the most?
  4. What has surprised you the most about blogging?
  5. If you were to give a new blogger some advice, what would it be?

My Nomination:

  1. A Guy Called Bloke:

Can I Ask You A Question?

2. Angie, of KingBensGrandma

3) Mel of Caramel – learner at love

4) Cyranny of Cyranny’s Cove

After Eight Moments…

5) Beckie of Beckie’s Mental Mess

That’s probably enough to be getting on with.

Happy Blogging 🙂

2 Years Today – my 2 year Anniversary!

<count>2</count> Year Anniversary Achievement

Happy Anniversary with!
You registered on 2 years ago.
Thanks for flying with us. Keep up the good blogging.
Today is my 2 year anniversary on WordPress!
Here are some links to my very first posts:
I would like to say a bit thank you to all my blogging pals and to WordPress itself,
Thanks for Everything!

I’ve reached 1000 followers!!! THANK YOU.

1,000 Follows!

Congratulations on getting 1,000 total follows on Tales from the mind of Kristian!
Your current tally is 1,001.
I am so excited that I have now reached/exceeded 1000 followers!
I have been blogging now since the 7th of March 2018, so well over a year, but I had no blogging experience before then and had no expectations. I just wanted to write stories and poetry and have somewhere to put them. With those low expectations in mind, I did not expect to make so many wonderful blogging friends, to meet so many excellent writers and poets and to thoroughly enjoy my blogging experience.
To have achieved 1000 followers, I am thrilled!
I would like to give a HUGE thank you.

Thanks, to all my followers and my regular readers and commenters. I would have given up blogging ages ago without your support and encouragement.

The Mystery Blogger Award Nomination

I am cock-a-hoop and over the moon to have been nominated for this award by my great blogging pal and current collaborator, Beckie of Beckie’s Mental Mess.

Check out her post here:

The Mystery Blogger Award

Also, we have recently collaborated on two poems,

  1. In Search of Happiness:

2. The Creation (about the Creative writing process)

A Collaboration By Beckie of “Beckie’s Mental Mess” and Kristian of “Tales From The Mind of Kristian” ~ The Creation ~ The Final Piece

Now, what’s the Mystery Blogger Award?

“It’s an award for amazing bloggers with ingenious posts. Their blog not only captivates; it inspires and motivates. They are one of the best out there, and they deserve every recognition they get. This award is also for bloggers who find fun and inspiration in blogging, and they do it with so much love and passion.”

  1. Put the award logo/image on your blog
  2. List the rules
  3. Thank whoever nominated you and provide a link to their blog
  4. Mention the creator of the award and provide a link as well
  5. Answer the 5 questions you were asked
  6. Tell your readers 3 things about yourself
  7. You have to nominate 10 – 20 people
  8. Notify your nominees by commenting on their blog
  9. Ask your nominees any 5 questions of your choice; with one weird or funny question
  10. Share a link to your best post(s). (I’ve linked to the two posts I have worked with Beckie on above, and I’m really proud of the results)

Three Things About Me:

  1. I work for the National Health Service as a Data Analyst and I have never worked with so many truly dedicated people before (no insult intended to any previous work colleagues).
  2. I love writing and I’ll keep doing it, regardless of whether the results are any good or not.
  3. I have been blogging now since March 2018 and while I don’t have as much time to blog since starting my new job, I am still loving the process and I have nearly 1000 followers, which I am really excited about! Thank you to all of the people who have decided to follow me, and to all my regular readers, you keep me going (and kept me going last year when I was going through some dark times).

My Five Questions from Beckie:

  1. If you were to have one wish come true, what would it be? Hmm, It would probably be to get some kind of major recognition of my writing, a publishing contract for my stories or poems, that would be really lovely.
  2. What is the least favourite thing about yourself that you wish you could change? – My constant anxiety, I wish I stopped worrying about things and just lived!
  3. What was the last funniest thing to happen to you? – I’ve probably told this story before, but I once nearly got arrested for dancing in a car park. I had been to visit my cousin who teaches Latin and Ballroom dancing, and she’d taught me a few steps, then I went to visit my Aunt for tea, and she’d just popped out, so while I was waiting, I decided to practice my dance steps. It was broad daylight and I wasn’t drunk or anything. It seemed to make perfect sense to me. Anyway, my Aunt returned and we had a nice cup of tea. meanwhile a police car, lights blazing, pulled into the car park, blocked my car in and began searching the area. Apparently, a neighbour had seen me and reported that there was a lunatic in the area! I remain at large 😉
  4. What was your favourite subject in school? –  I enjoyed Geology and History. A lot depended on the teacher. If I got on well with them, then I enjoyed learning, if not, then it was torture.
  5. Weird/Strange Question… If you could have dinner with anybody (Dead or Alive) who would that be, and what would you like to ask them? – There are so many people. I’d love to have dinner with our Current Queen because she is such an interesting and intelligent person, I’d love to find out what she really thinks about things. I’d also love to chat with lots of dearly departed. Film stars, like Margaret Lockwood, Margaret Rutherford and Greer Garson (and if you’ve heard of them, I’m impressed!).

My Questions for my nominees:

  1. Did you have any childhood goals and have you achieved them?
  2. What is something you have always wanted to do but never have?
  3. What is something you are proud of?
  4. What is your favourite film/movie?
  5. Because I loved Beckie’s question so much, I’m going to copy hers. Weird/Strange Question… If you could have dinner with anybody (Dead or Alive) who would that be, and what would you like to ask them?

So this is the bit I find so hard because there are so many bloggers I admire, Beckie’s already nominated a lot of them, also there are a lot of great bloggers who do not accept awards, and I worry that if I nominate them, they’ll get annoyed at me. This fills me with a great deal of anxiety. I am going to pick some lovely bloggers who have been very supportive of me, and hope they will forgive me if they do not do these things.

Poblano Strips with Cream – Rajas con Crema

Someone, anyone?

This is the tip of the iceberg of those wonderful bloggers who deserve this award.

There is absolutely no obligation to do this, I know they are time-consuming, but just a bit THANK YOU from me.

Initially I was just going to dip my toe into the water, just to check the temperature, but instead, I jumped in.

Writing has always been a passion of mine, but I never really shared much of what I wrote with anyone else. I have now found that Blogging has also become a passion, thanks to the support and encouragement I have received for you.

Thank you to everyone. I was also a bit wary of social media, that it was full of trolls lacking any vestige of empathy, just looking for an excuse to tear people down. Instead, here on WordPress, I have found a great bunch of people who are genuinely caring and supportive.

Thank you all very much.

Share your world – Grateful :-)

Melanie B Cee, of the Blog Sparksfromacombustiblemind has posted a few questions in her Share your world challenge,

see her post here:

Now, I don’t do a lot of these, mainly because I want the focus of my blog to be on the stories and poems that I wrote and less on my, their author. Plus, I don’t think I’m at all that interesting. I certainly hope my stories are more interesting than I am.

I am taking part in this one because I like the questions and also because I am so grateful and pleased to see a post from Melanie. She is going through a tough time and I feared the worst, so It’s a privilege to take part in this challenge.

What, in your opinion, is the point to life?

What was your most recent lie?  You don’t have to get really specific obviously.

What country do you consider the most strange?   (it’s all In fun folks, ALL countries may seem strange to outsiders)

What’s your funniest story involving a car?

My Answers:

grilled dish with vegetables on round white ceramic plate
  1. In my opinion, the meaning of life is the same as the meaning of a good meal. It is not meant to be rationalised, just to be eaten and enjoyed as much as possible. It might contain some really lovely flavours or some not so pleasant ones, but in the end, you have to make the best of what you’ve got.
  2. My most recent lie is probably “Yes, I had a good day at work”.
  3. Every country has it’s quirks, not just looking in from the outside but also looking from the inside. The UK is no exception to a few crazy traditions. I think it is what makes countries different to each other, that makes them interesting. If they were all the same, where would there be any point in travelling? I do enjoy watching videos on youtube about 5 things that outsiders don’t know about….. (replace with any country). There is a great out about the US and also one about Japan. Vive La’ Difference, say I.
  4. My funniest story about a car involved my cousin and her dad. I didn’t know him very well, he always seemed quiet and unassuming, but apparently, he wasn’t. My cousin tells me that once they were driving along and the road went through a gated area. The Satnav said to go on, but the gate guard seemed to indicate that that wasn’t going to happen. My cousin’s dad wound down the window and the guard walked up and put his hand out and asked for his pass. What he actually said was “Pass”, so he replied. “Thank you” and put his foot down and drove on through.

Do you have something you’re very thankful for or that showed immense kindness toward yourself or someone?

I try to be grateful every day and I have a lot to be grateful for. I’m not only grateful for the things I have and the things that have happened. I am grateful for somethings that haven’t and I’m grateful that I am able to take part in this Share the World post.

Eleven months ago to this very day I started out on a journey.

I have always enjoyed writing but had never shared my writing with anyone in particular. I wasn’t ashamed of it, I just never believed anyone would be interested.

I have never been particularly into modern technology. I don’t walk around glued to my mobile phone. It doesn’t even connect to the internet!

If someone had told me a year ago that I was going to embark on this amazing voyage of discovery and construct my own blog, I would have laughed in their face.

If someone had told me that I would manufacture a blog and then still be going after eleven months, I would have thought they were insane.

This can’t really be happening? This can’t be me?

It is a revelation.

I have created 1,240 posts (this will be 1241!)

Written 369,840 words.

Received 23,246 Likes.

and gained 711 followers.

I can’t believe it! I can’t believe that I have done this.

I wish to thank everyone who has read one of my posts and liked it for giving me the confidence and encouragement to keep me blogging.

Thank you to every one of my followers. I hope you still enjoy what I write and continue to do so.

Going forward, are there any requests for a story you would like me to write? Please leave suggestions in the comment.

Have a nice day. 🙂

A New Award – The Writers Soul Award

Teresa, The Haunted Wordsmith created two awards last year, one called the Creative Mind Award and the other, From the Heart Award. The aim was to recognise bloggers who write but also encourage and inspire others. The awards came with no obligations to answer questions or to nominate. See her post here:

Teresa has merged those two awards into one, the Writers Soul Award and I am honoured that she has nominated me for it. I am one of the first, along with a handful of other worthy bloggers, to receive this award.

I would like to thank Teresa very much.

I am now struggling to stay awake, so before I begin waltzing off into the land of nod, I with you all good night.
