Picture of the Day – Cockington village

I am not being rude, it is honestly the name of a very pretty village near Torquay in Devon, England.

It is quite a popular spot for coach tours because it is so quaint. The village Smithy is still going strong with its Thatched roof. A number of cottages still have their traditional thatch. This view was taken from one of the tea gardens, where they serve the famous Devonshire Cream Tea.

Cream tea isn’t, like someone I know thought, Tea with cream in it (Yuck),

It is Tea served with Scones, Clotted cream and Jam. Clotted cream itself is a wonder. It is cream so thick you can spread it with a knife.

Nothing can quite compare to a lovely sunny day sitting in the tea garden in Cockington overlooking a duck pond eating scones with clotted cream and jam and enjoying a nice cup of tea.

I hope you enjoy this picture.
