Sunshine Blogger Award Nomination

I have been nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award by the brilliant Guy Called Bloke,

see below:

The Sunshine Blogger Award Nomination 2018 3

If you do not know this blog, then click on it and have a good look round..

If you already know it then you already know how amazing the blog is.

The Rules:

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you.
  2. Use the “Sunshine Blogger Award” logo on your post.
  3. Answer the 11 questions the selector asks of you.
  4. Nominate 5-11 bloggers you want to give the award to.
  5. Ask the following bloggers that you selected 11 questions of your own.

Questions from the Bloke

I always try and make my questions unusual, in fact it is this part that actually takes the longest for me to prepare and which is why many of my nominees actually love my questions. No, not blowing my trumpet or even any other part of my anatomy just fact.

What was the weirdest conversation you have overheard?

You hear all kinds of conversations on the train or the tube travelling in and out of London. I love hearing people mispronouncing all the names on the tube map. So many of them are just so counter intuitive that unless you know how to say them, you won’t have a clue.

Leyesester square is a common one. It’s spelt Leicester but pronounced Lester. Why? who knows?

If you could be any age [not your current] for a full 7 days, what age would it be and for goodness sake why?

For 7 days? Maybe I would revisit my late teens because I failed to do lots of things that teens are supposed to do and I want to find out if i really missed anything.

If I could choose an age to be I would like to be 33 again. It wasn’t until my 30’s I actually felt happy being me and yet still have the energy to do all the things I wanted to do. I am getting a bit achey now.

Do you believe in the paranormal, if so why and if not why, and if sitting on the fence – yep you guessed it … why?

There are some strange things that happen that are unexplainable at the moment. I keep an open mind.

If you had a brainwashing machine who would you use it on specifically and why?

I would brainwash a publisher to give me a brilliant contract and publish all my stories.

What is the strangest, oddest, wierdest or just down right stupidest thing you have ever eaten?

Hmmm Vindaloo was a bit stupid, because I already have IBS and the result was not very nice.

I have eaten kangaroo in Australia, which was very nice and crocodile, which I wasn’t keen on….

What is your most favourite of all time joke?

I love Nun jokes. There is one about Sahra Pepelini that is one of my favourites.

Three nuns die and go to heaven.

They are standing at the pearly gates and St. Peter is smiling at them and says to them.

“because you have all been so good and kind and lead such simple lives I will grant you a gift. You can each choose someone you wish to be and you can return to earth and be them for One whole week.”

Quite excited the Nuns start thinking about who they wanted to be.

St. Peter asks the first Nun, “So who would you like to be?”

She replies “I’d like to be Sophia Loren please.” So Pffff she disappears and becomes Sophia Loren for a week.

St. Peter then asks the second Nun “So who would you like to be?”

She replies “I’d like to be Madonna.” So Pffff she disappears back to earth and she’s Singing like a Virgin.

St Peter then finally asks the third Nun who she wants to be.

The third nun giggles and says “I’d like to be Sahra Pepelini please.”

St. Peter asks “Who’s Sahra Pepelini?”

The Nun hands over an old newspaper cutting which St. Peter reads and starts laughing.

He says to the Nun “No, i’m sorry that’s not Sahra Pepelini, Its the Sahara Pipeline, laid by five hundred men in seven days.”

What food would be the best to make a house out of – discuss and explain your logic?

Porridge, because when it’s left in the bowl it sets like concrete.

Which of my 12 nominees is willing to take part in the Mystery Challenge question of this nomination and which of the 12 is willing to answer the Mystery Challenge Question?

Go on then. In for a penny, in for a pound, as they say. (Well they don’t say it as often as they used to, but they should).

If you could have a choice of window types and styles in front of your toilet, what would you pick? [You know, where you could sit and watch sort of thing]

I would have an enormous bay window with one way glass so I can see out and no-one can see in.

You have just bumped into an alien from the planet Jupiter and you say what?

I’d probably say. “Gosh, I bet the winters are long where you come from.”

Of all your behaviours/traits – which one has landed you into the most hot water or trouble?

My Loquaciousness. I was always getting told off for talking when the teacher was talking. Talking too much. Talking about things that I shouldn’t be talking about….

One year my report card just said one thing. “Chatterbox”.

My Nominees

Right Ok, a note to my nominees. You are under no obligation to accept the nomination, equally as much the same applies to the questions, if however you wish to answer just the questions, that is also fine.  (This was copied from A Guy Called Bloke’s post because it put what I wanted to say so well.)

I am also keen to find out more about some bloggers who I don’t know so well.

Liebster Award Nomination

I have been kindly and generously nominated for this award by The Haunted Wordsmith, see the link below and check out her blog. She also does daily triple word prompts that are really fun.

https://thehauntedwordsmith.wordpress.com/2018/06/04/liebster-award/

THE RULES

  • Thank the person who nominated you
  • Answer 11 questions about yourself provided by you nominator—or 11 random facts
  • Nominate 5-11 fellow bloggers with fewer than 1000 followers who you think deserve the award
  • Create a new list of questions for your nominees
  • List the rules in your post
  • Let your nominees know of your nomination personally

Questions posed by The Haunted Wordsmith:

  1. If you could be any animal, what would it be?
  2. Do you believe in fairy tales?
  3. What is your favorite movie/tv show?
  4. What are you reading right now?
  5. What is one movie people would be surprised to learn you like?
  6. If you could trade places with anyone for a day, who would it be?
  7. What advice would you give your younger self?
  8. If you could swap blogs with someone, who would it be?
  9. Name three places anywhere in the Universe that you would like to see up close.
  10. Dog, cat, fish, bird, reptile, small mammal, or no pet at all?

My Answers:

  1. A Raven, It will be nice to be able to fly and also most people are scared of them, a bit. They do seem to be the stuff of Nightmares.
  2. Yes, absolutely. Life is a fairy tale, there are goodies and baddies and great stuff happens and stepmothers are usually not very nice (except for you of course, if you are reading this and happen to be a stepmother).
  3. I have a few favourite movies and TV shows. Father Ted was one of my favourite comedies, along with Blackadder and The Good Life (If you don’t know them, look them up) and I am an avid fan of the Simpsons.
  4. I am currently rereading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Just read Agatha Christie Halloween Party.
  5. I love old movies, really old movies, like Gone with the Wind and All about Eve, Kind hearts and coronets and The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp, so it surprises people to see in my DVD collection, along with these golden oldies, There Something about Mary. It makes me cry with laughter from  beginning to end. Although it’s probably getting a bit old now…
  6. Oh, I don’t really know. I’m happy being me. Someone else would be too much of a climbdown 😉
  7. I would tell myself not to be so worried all the time. Most things work out OK. Also Stop procrastinating and work harder!
  8. Again, like question 6, everyone’s blogs are so unique, I don’t think I would swap with anyone, but please don’t construe that as not liking other  blogs, there are lots of blogs out there that I think are really fantastic, but I don’t think you can ever copy someone else’s style, you have to make your own.
  9. The Rings of Saturn, Macchu Picchu and Atlantis (I’m sure it still exists somewhere out there).
  10. I currently have chickens, which I would not give up, but I would LOVE a dog.

OK

Now for my Nominees. To be frank, I can’t be bothered to find out how many followers a blogger has before I nominate them. So here are some Blogs that I like.
