Once again that Loki of the Blogosphere, A Guy Called Bloke has thrown down the gauntlet of challenge. See here:

Rules: 3.2.1 Quote Me!

Thank the Selector – Thanks Rory, you rascal you 😉

Post 2 quotes for the dedicated Topic of the Day.

Select 3 bloggers to take part in ‘3.2.1 Quote Me!’

Note: Although this is the topic for today there is no specific deadline to it, meaning you can answer as and when.

The Topic is: Creative Imagination

The world of reality has its limits; the world of imagination is boundless. - Jean-Jacques Rousseau
https://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/jeanjacques_rousseau_121644?src=t_imagination

There are a wealth of quotes out there about creative imaginations and how useful and wonderful they are. ‘If you can imagine it, you can make it happen’ is one of them. Wonderful though it sounds, I believe this is a little far-fetched, but the opposite is certainly true, If you can’t imagine it, It will NEVER happen. Imagination is a key, but you still have to find the door that it opens and walk through it.

A quote from me:

“A CREATIVE IMAGINATION IS A CURSE THAT’S WORTH HAVING.” – Kristian Fogarty

Sadje of Keep It Alive

Select 3 bloggers to take part in ‘3.2.1 Quote Me!’

Note: Although this is the topic for today there is no specific deadline to it, meaning you can answer as and when.

So I would like to thank A Guy Called Bloke for nominating me for this challenge, for being a great Blogging buddy and for just being himself.

Topic For Today: ”Expression”

I have been cursed with one of those ‘tell all’ faces. I can’t play poker and I certainly can’t hide what I am thinking and feeling inside. I wish I could have a face that showed less expression but I’m afraid I am stuck with it. Maybe the wind changed?

Freedom of Speech or Freedom of Expression is quite a popularly discussed subject. It is often the excuse used by racists for expressing their hateful views and expecting their victims to ‘suck it up’. Freedom of expression cannot and should not apply to Hateful people who wish to incite further hatred.

But this guy (below) does have a point.

Image result for Expression quotes

Have a think for a moment. We all have views and opinions and that is all well and good, but do you respect and accept other people have different views to yours? Are you happy with them expressing them?

Do you have friends who vote for a different party? Or hold a very different view with regards to other issues of the day? We should be able to accept and respect others and have friends we can have an open and friendly discussion with. If you answered those questions as NO, then maybe you need to consider the fact that YOU do not believe in Freedom of Expression at all, unless it’s yours…..

I’m being rather controversial, aren’t I?

Well maybe you’d like this quote better:

All the best

Today’s Topic: CHIC

Well the topic of the day is Chic.

I am not so sure that I can wax lyrical about this topic with quite the obvious experience of 3CStyle.

P1050907

This is me at my most dapper.

I see Chic as slightly different to style, just as I see Style as different from Fashion.

Fashion is temporary whereas Style is permanent.

Something can be cutting edge fashion, but look very out of date, very quickly.

Where as Style is pretty constant and usually more subtle.

Chic on the other hand, I believe, is Style with an element of fun.

I think it has to have an element of ‘tongue in chic’ about it. (Major apologies for this Pun, i couldn’t resist).

Could there be a better icon to help explain this than Audrey Hepburn? I think not.

My Nominations:

The problem I find is that I have no idea if people want to take part, or have recently already been nominated, I wish to spread some fun, so If you are reading this and you wish to have a go and take up the baton, I pass it to YOU.

Have a nice day everyone.

Topic For Today: “Experience”

Experience is one of those strange things that you don’t appreciate at the time. At the time experience is given other names like ‘worries’, ‘trouble’ or ‘difficulties’. It is only when looking back on them, you realise that you learned something. Then it becomes experience. If you fail to learn the lesson, then it isn’t experience at all.

So that’s my two penny worth.

Here are my two quotes 😉

Dr. Seuss

“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”
― Dr. Seuss
Experience is one thing you can't get for nothing. - Oscar Wilde
Whatever happens to you may be really negative, but experience is always something good to come out of it.
My Nominees are:
Dee Kelly at Thriving not Surviving.
Jo at The Creative PTSD Gal
and
Keto for Beginners
I hope you enjoy the challenge.

Wisdom from the Past – Marcus Aurelius.

I have been nominated by https://aguycalledbloke.blog/ for a very interesting challenge “Ancient Authors”

See link below:

Ciceronian

The rules are simple, as always:

  • Choose the author or philosopher (it should be one from the Ancient Times). Don’t know anyone? Google it, It shouldn’t be so hard.
  • Choose 3 quotes of this author/philosopher. The country of origin – doesn’t matter (Egypt, Greece…Italy). Add any info or explanation if you like.
  • Share those quotes and nominate 3 to 6 people.
  • The title for the post? Choose something cool.

OK my choice of Ancient Wise One is the great Marcus Aurelius.

He was actually a Roman Emperor  but unlike other Roman emperors you may have heard of, like Caligula and Nero, he wasn’t a debauched power crazed deviant. He was actually a philosopher and very learned man who then became an Emperor and was an extremely beneficent and wise man.

Read all about him here:

3 Quotes, 3 Days Challenge (Song Lyric Style) – DAY THREE

The lovely and brilliant Ang4him has nominated me for this interesting challenge.

https://journeytoimperfectionblog.wordpress.com/author/ang4him/

Please visit their blog:

https://journeytoimperfectionblog.wordpress.com/2018/05/25/3-quotes-3-day-challenge-song-lyric-style-day-1/

the RULES:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you
  2. Post 1 quote (song lyric) each day for 3 days
  3. Nominate 3 people

People who regularly visit my blog may have picked up on something about me…I am old fashioned and as such my music tastes are pretty 20th century, in fact I don’t think I have much music post 1990 on my i-Pod (but I’m not that bad really, I do have an I-pod).

So my old fashioned inspiring music quote of today is this one:

The original song “Spread a little happiness” Was written back in 1929 (told you I was old fashioned) but this version by Sting was a hit in the UK in 1982, when I was a wee nipper (5 Years Old). I remember it and I’ve always loved it. The Lyrics are below:

“I’ve got a creed for every need
So easy that it must succeed
I’ll set it down for you to read
So please, take heed
Keep out the gloom
Let in the sun
That’s my advice for everyone
It’s only once we pass this way
So day by day

Even when the darkest clouds are in the sky
You mustn’t sigh and you mustn’t cry
Spread a little happiness as you go by
Please try

What’s the use of worrying and feeling blue?
When days are long keep on smiling through
Spread a little happiness till dreams come true

Surely you’ll be wise to make the best of every blues day
Don’t you realise you’ll find next monday or next Tuesday
Your golden shoes day

Even when the darkest clouds are in the sky
You mustn’t sigh and you mustn’t cry
Spread a little happiness as you go by”

How’s that for inspiring lyrics? I try to live by them….Some days it is easier than others.

Cyndi Lauper – True Colours

“You with the sad eyes
Don’t be discouraged,
Oh I realize
It’s hard to take courage
In a world full of people
You can lose sight of it all
The darkness inside you
Can make you feel so small

And I see your true colors
Shining through
I see your true colors
And that’s why I love you
So don’t be afraid to let them show
Your true colors
True colors are beautiful”
