Revenge of the Animals – A Silly Poem.

Doctor Doolittle started to castigate,

his animals who had turned up late,

he said, “Can you guess what I truly hate?”

and before they’d begun to speculate,

he shouted at them, and quite upset,

the rather sensitive marmoset.

And feeling in an intransigent mood,

the monotonous hippopotamus stood

and hating bullies, as you should,

swallowed the hectoring doctor whole,

to the rounding cheers from every animal.

Well, it was the only thing to do,

now be honest, wouldn’t you?
