Saturday Song Lyrics – Rivers

The Word of the Day is River

and so I instantly thought of these songs,

https://wordofthedaychallenge.wordpress.com/2020/06/27/river-2/

  1. Billy Joel – The River of Dreams

2. Christie – Yellow River

and finally, a little something from me. A version of the classic song Moon River, sung by me. 🙂

SMILE – Even though you don’t feel like it sometimes.

Right now, I’m feeling a bit fed up and I have a sore and swollen eye, but at times like this, I remember this song by Nat King Cole. So I thought I’d sing it too and share it with you, in the hope it makes you Smile. 🙂

Oh, and happy Mother‘s Day too. 🙂

Some Rainy songs for a Rainy day

The Word of the Day is Raining,

and this made me think of a number of songs.

Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head,

Rainy Days and Mondays,

It’s Raining in my Heart

and

Singing in the Rain.

Rather than copy and paste the original artists, I’ve decided to do my own versions…

I find singing helps to put me in a good mood, I’m not sure if the same can be said for my audience, perhaps you’ll tell me in the comments below 😉

Hope they haven’t put your in a bad mood 🙂

Croakey Karaoke – A multiple Word Prompt Poem

When I’m singing at karaoke,

With my voice all crackly and croaky

My neighbours all shout

“Dear God! Cut it out”

When I start doing the Hokey-cokey.

They call it a thoughtless act

Well, I’ve never had that much tact,

And tactless though I am,

I don’t give a damn

I’ll keep on singing until I’m attacked.

Though they cry it gets on their wick,

Well, honestly, I don’t care a lick

They say it’s a cacophony

But I shout back with joy and glee.

“Have gratitude the walls are quite thick”

Multiple Word Prompt Story – The Singing Builder.

When Joe and Sonya had bought the house, it was pretty much ready to move in to. Everything had been decorated in a plain manner, in order for whoever moved in to make their own mark on the place. The carpets were a hardwearing light browny beige and the walls were painted in that ubiquitous colour, magnolia. They were happy with it and did not feel the need to change much, just add a brighter coloured rug, some curtains and cushions, then it would be fine. There was one room that they did not particularly like. The Bathroom was an assault on the eyes, a monstrous concoction of pink. The bath, sink and toilet were all bright pink. The tiles were a checkered pattern of dark and pale pink. On the floor was a musty smelling carpet in a shade of ……you’ve guessed it, pink. It all looked rather grubby.
