I have been nominated for this Sunshine Blogger award by the lovely Beckie of Beckie’s Mental Mess and we call can do with a bit of sunshine at this time of year (except you Southern Hemisphere inhabitants or those closer to the equator). 🙂

Sunshine Blogger Award

About Sunshine Blogger Award:
It is given to those who are creative, positive and inspiring while spreading sunshine to the blogging community.

The Rules:

a. Nominate 11 people and notify them via comment.
b. Ask them new 11 questions.
c. Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
d. Display the award logo on your blog post.
e. Answer the 11 questions asked

Beckie’s Questions:

1. Do you search for difficult words in your writing? like I do. I have to search for meaning.

No, I do not look up difficult words to use in my writing. I use words that I commonly use in speech.

2. What do you prefer tea or coffee? For any specific flavour, please mention the same.

I detest coffee but I drink tea, properly made in a teapot. The tea I tend to have is Assam which isn’t a flavour of tea, tea is a leaf from the Camellia Sinensis plant and Assam is a region in India which grows it. Tea takes on characteristics depending on where it is grown and Assam tea is known for its strong malty taste. I take my tea with milk but no sugar.
3. Most of the time, I am found writing while walking to and fro in my room, on my phone’s notepad. Do you like writing on phones or tablets or laptops?

4. Where would you like to live, if not the current country?

I couldn’t imagine living anywhere other than England. Despite the weather and the overcrowding, I don’t think I could call anywhere else home.

5. How many books do you have in your own library?

Too many to count, so more than four.

6. Have you participated in any protests for any social cause? Which one and why?

7. A motivating line of your own, if this was an award given to you on stage.

Thank you to everyone who considers me worthy of this award. You’re all fabulous, Thank you and keep reading my blog. 🙂

8. What genre do you prefer in movies?

I prefer movies or films that transcend genres. The best films have elements of both humour and tragedy. I do have a soft spot for musicals.

9. Are you a bathroom singer?

I sing in the shower and in the living room and also when driving my car. This time of year I sing a lot of Christmas Carols.

10. How do you spend your Sunday?

Cleaning out the chickens, a bit of housework and then a long soak in the bath ready for Monday.

11. Do you like watching TV? What do you prefer watching?

I don’t watch a lot of TV, I find most TV programmes at the moment extremely banal, but I do enjoy a documentary or an old sitcom, like Blackadder (if you don’t know what Blackadder is, you need to look it up).

So my Nominees:

We could all do with a bit of sunshine at the moment, so consider yourself nominated.

Questions for my nominees:

  1. What will you be eating on the 25th of December?
  2. Will you be making any New Year Resolutions?
  3. Where do you hope to be in 12 months time?

The Sunshine Blogger Award Nomination

I am thrilled, Chuffed to bits and generally over the mood to have received a nomination for the Sunshine Bloggers Award from none other than Stuart L Tutt of the Blog Something to Stu over. Click on the link below to view his post and while your there, check out his blog and say Hi from me.

1. Use the sunshine blogger award logo

2. Give thanks to the blogger that nominated you

3. Answer the 11 questions given to you

4. Nominate 11 other bloggers and ask them 11 questions

The Questions:

1. What, in your opinion, is the most majestic of all God’s creation?

The World itself.

2. Are you a read the book type of person or a wait for the movie type?

Depends. I tend to enjoy both mediums separately. I have never felt the need to read the book if I enjoyed the film or vice versa.

3. What topic do you feel is the least discussed but the one most needed one to be discussed?

How are children being taught about respect? Respecting themselves and each other. Respect is so important.

4. Do you prefer hanging out with a group of friends around a fire or chilling alone by a lake?

I am not great with crowds but I am not great on my own. I’d probably like to be with a select small group of very close friends. Or alone but with a special someone by a lake.

5. What inspires you to keep blogging?

Habit and the need to empty my brain of the words that are buzzing around inside it.

6. Do you believe the world is going to hell in a handbasket? Why?

It is a complicated picture, many things in the world are actually improving, the media, of course, shine a light on all the bad stuff. There is plenty of bad stuff going on too.

7. If you are a Christian, would you be willing to write your testimony as a blog post?

I don’t understand this question. Maybe I’m not Christian enough to understand. I believe in God but don’t believe that much of the prescribed religious practices are necessary at all.

8. If you have written your testimony would you be so kind as to send the link?

9. What is the current colour of your kitchen?

Pale cream coloured walls, pale green tiles and a mock green granite worktop.

10. What is your dream car?

One that won’t break down and will get me from A to B in comfort and without fuss.

11. Where did the phrase “by the skin of my teeth” originate?

The King James Version Bible. It is an excellent phrase that also displays good British wit, the skin of the teeth, i.e by the smallest of margins because, of course, there is no skin on teeth.

My Nominees:

#MM — Tale Weaver — Visiting — Long Black Veil

Questions from Laura

  1. What is your favourite time of day?
  2. Your favourite genre of movies and your top three of that genre?
  3. What are your top 5 favourite songs of all time?
  4. What is your favourite thing to do in your down time?
  5. Is there anything in your life that you want but have yet to accomplish?
  6. Name your muse for much of your writing.
  7. Do you prefer Japanese or Chinese cuisine?
  8. If you could talk to any one person that is no longer alive, who would it be?
  9. How many siblings do you have?
  10. Would you say that you are an adventurer or a thrill seeker?
  11. What is your favourite candy?

My Answers:

  1. Mid Morning – I still feel refreshed and full of energy. 9:30 – 11am is usually when I feel at my best, then I normally get a second wind about 3 or 4pm that lasts for a couple of hours. Then it’s downhill until bedtime.
  2. I love Fantasy (wizards and stuff like that) my favourites in that genre would be The Dark Crystal, Time Bandits and The Princess Bride. (I grew up in the 1980’s, in case you hadn’t worked it out from that list).
  3. My top 5 would be constantly changing, but 5 that would always be favourites are Alison Moyet – That Ole Devil called Love, The Seekers – Island of Dreams, Edison Lighthouse – Love grows where my Rosemary goes, The Mamas and the Papas – Monday Monday and Carpenters – Top of the World.
  4. Blogging, Gardening and watching my Chickens in the garden.
  5. I’d love to be a famous published Author, that would be pretty good.
  6. I don’t have a muse. The inspiration just comes and I am grateful for it.
  7. I don’t really know enough about Japanese or Chinese food, but I don’t like Sushi and I really like Dim sum dumplings and Prawn Crackers, so in my naievety I would have to say Chinese.
  8. I’d like to have a nice long friendly chat to Queen Elizabeth the First. She is such an Iconic figure from English history and rather a hero (or Heroine) of mine, so I’d love to find out more about what made her tick. I have my suspicions.
  9. I feel like I have lots of siblings, I have lots of cousins and friends who are as close as brothers and sisters to me.
  10. I am definitely an adventurer but NOT a thrill seeker. I hate fairground rides and the idea of skydiving or bungee jumping just leaves me feeling flat and rather nauseated, but the idea of visiting a part of the world I’ve not been to, that is my kind of thrill.
  11. I don’t really have much of a sweet tooth. I can’t stand Icing (frosting) or Meringue. I am rather fond of Digestive biscuits ( a plain cookie) and I like Kit Kats.

Sunshine Blogger Award Nomination – Happy New Year everyone.

My blogging friend Mel of Crushed Caramel has nominated me for this award, my first of the year. Thank you Mel, you are a wonderful person. I recommend everyone reading this click on the link below and have a good browse of her blog.

Some of you may have been aware, some may not, that I have had a brief hiatus from blogging. Basically, from the 21st of December, until just the other day, I have been very quiet.

That is because we had family visiting from Australia and they, of course, wanted to see a lot of London the my corner of England while they were here. The three best things we did?

  1. Duxford Imperial War Museum of the Air.
  2. Macbeth at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre
  3. Visiting St. Pauls Cathedral again.

I also did a lot of cooking, Onion soup, Jerusalem Artichoke soup, Venison Casserole and of course Christmas Dinner with Goose and all the trimmings. Yum. For that reason, I had no time at all for blogging and I still feel pretty exhausted, like I’ve hit a wall. Today I had a migraine and so have been laying down on the sofa with a frozen bag of peas (slowly thawing) on my head.

My head no longer feels like a pounding volcano, so I have picked myself up from my sickbed to write this post.

Eleven Questions set by Mel:

  1. DO YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS KNOW ABOUT YOUR BLOG? – Yes, they do and they are broadly encouraging. They probably were shocked at first, because I am a complete technophobe. I do not use a mobile phone, for example. Once they got over that initial shock, I have had some nice comments. They do not visit and read a lot of my stuff, I have found much greater encouragement from my fellow bloggers. Some of you have really been so wonderful (You know who you are 🙂 )
  2. ARE THERE ANY LESSONS YOUR PARENTS TAUGHT YOU THAT YOU ARE VERY GRATEFUL? – My Mum taught me right from wrong, good manners and high standards. My Dad taught me that Women often make better role models than Men. 😉
  3. ARE YOU A SWIMMER? WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE TO SWIM? – I am a terrible swimmer. I didn’t actually learn to swim until I was Nine or Ten and I have never really felt comfortable in the water. If I am one of only a handful of people in a pool, then I’m not too bad, but if there are a lot of people splashing around then I’d rather not get in. My Natural nervousness wasn’t helped when a horrible teacher in Australia threw me physically into a polo pool which was three metres deep. She would never win caring teacher of the year.
  4. DID YOU HAVE TO HELP OUT WITH CHORES WHEN YOU WERE GROWING UP? IF SO, WHAT WERE YOU ASSIGNED TO DO? – At home, growing up, my Mum pretty much liked to do everything herself. I sometimes got the washing in for her if we had a sudden rainstorm (In England, that was very common). When we went away in the Caravan my chores included helping to put up and take down the awning. Collecting the water and emptying the black (dirty water) Container. That was the only time my Dad did the washing up too.
  5. HAVE YOU EVER HAD A PENPAL? – Yes but not for very long because I don’t stick at anything for long (except blogging, apparently).
  6. WHAT DO YOU DO TO CHEER YOURSELF UP ON RAINY DAYS WHEN YOU DON’T FEEL HAPPY? – I play music from my happy list then watch one of my old films. That normally helps. Then I find a long soak in the bath and an early night very helpful.
  7. HAVE YOU EVER RESEARCHED YOUR FAMILY TREE? WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT YOUR FAMILY’S ROOTS? – My Mum’s family was quite interesting, but my Mum’s father had a great number of brothers and sisters, but his mother died when they were still quite young and his father remarried. She sounds like the original wicked stepmother because she refused to have all the children in the house and they were farmed out to various foster homes around London and that meant many of them lost touch with each other. He claimed to come from a wealthy, aristocratic family, but I haven’t found much evidence for that.
  8. WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO IN THE NEXT TWELVE MONTHS? – A new job, more writing, perhaps another writing course, a trip to the Isle of Wight at some point…
  9. DO YOU HAVE ANY REGRETS? – I have a few, but then again, too few to mention. 😉
  10. WHAT NEW SKILLS OR TALENTS WOULD YOU LIKE TO LEARN OR DEVELOP? – Hmm, If I could discover the skill of teleportation, that would be helpful. Maybe learn a new language, or brush up on my Russian.
  11. DO YOU FIND IT EASIER TO BE HOPEFUL OR DOUBTFUL ABOUT A BETTER FUTURE FOR THIS EARTH AND ALL IT’S CREATURES? – I am generally a hopeful person. I believe that the people who care about the planet outnumber those that don’t and also the planet it quite tough and will recover if given the chance too. Some of the animals may not though.

Well there you go. 🙂

My Questions

I will boil down my 11 questions to just Three.

  1. What is the thing that happened to you in 2018 that you are most happy about?
  2. What would you like to happen to you in 2019?
  3. If you could go back and change one thing in 2018 what would it be?

My Nominations

So, there are lots of people out there I would like to nominate, but I have always have a constant anxiety attack about whether people are too busy, or sick of doing these things or have already stated that they don’t do awards and I have foolishly missed it, so in order to bypass that whole stressful scenario, I am going to nominate anyone of you who read this, and want to have a go. Oh and you Mel, you’ve got to answer my three questions too. 🙂

Hope you all have a nice weekend.

There So much SUNSHINE around

I have the Stupendous honour to have been nominated for The Sunshine Bloggers award by two of my Blogging friends at once!

Firstly, Belle of Wandering Belle has nominated me, see the post here:

Belle started her blog in September, reach out and say HI to a relatively new member of our blogosphere.

Secondly, Laura M Bailey of All the Shoes I wear has also nominated me, see the post here:

Laura has just one question that requires a full answer:

Share a special holiday memory with me.

I recently posted about a family holiday to Ireland.

I’ve had some nice comments about this, and so I thought I would elaborate further on this.

This holiday occurred in the early 1990s and was before the age of digital photography, and so I can’t share any photos of the trip, however, I have visited some of the same sights since and so will share a couple of more recent photo’s.

My Parents bought a Caravan back int he late 1980’s and we used to like going for a weekend away all over England. As I got older and bigger, rather than share the space in the caravan, I would pitch a tent in the awning outside, which gave them more space and privacy.

My Dad decided that he wanted to visit Southern Ireland, as his ancestors came from there and he retained a certain appearance and also the Irish name, Fogarty, that had derived from O’Fogartaich, apparently. We had a coat of arms too.

There were still troubles in Ireland, between the Irish Republican Army and The Ulster Paramilitaries. It wasn’t long after the IRA had set a bomb in a Manchester shopping centre, killing many innocents. They had also blown up a Hotel in Brighton and London was frequently on high alert. The problems were mainly in Northern Ireland, but my Mum and I were still a little worried that we would be Denounced in Southern Ireland for being English. The Ulster paramilitaries had committed atrocities in the Republic of Ireland, particularly Dublin.

We found that contrary to our worries, we were welcomed with open arms by people all over Southern Ireland. They were outraged at the extortionate cost of catching a Ferry from Holyhead in Wales to Dun Laoghaire in Dublin and seemed to want to encourage more visitors.

We spent some time in Dublin, which is a fantastic city and also County Wicklow, which is sunny and has less rain than other parts of Ireland. It has a similar Climate to the South east corner of England, where I’m from.

We then drove around the south coast to County Cork and Bantry Bay.

I remember, we arrived at our next destination, a bit travel dusty and decided to go to a local pub for a meal. In the reception room next to the public bar there was a wedding going on. Ireland is a musical place, there’s always someone in a pub playing the violin, or flute or drum. The music coming from the wedding was really marvellous. After we’d eaten, a man came into the bar and invited everyone there to join the wedding party. As we were only visitors and were not really appropriately dressed, my parents declined. Then the father of the bride came over and personally invited us in to join them. We all had a bit of a jig and couldn’t have had a nicer evening.

Another time, we were in a bookshop, and I spotted an old Hardback version of an Agatha Christie book that I hadn’t read. It was marked up for £10 for sale. The owner of the bookshop asked how long we were staying in town, which was five days then said “Oh, well you might as well borrow the book. Drop it back when you’re finished before you go.”

I couldn’t believe it! He didn’t know us from Adam, and yet would let me borrow this rare edition book. After a few days, it became clear that I wouldn’t finish it in time. We went back and My mum said she’d buy it for me. The owner then said he couldn’t charge us the £10 so sold it to us for a Fiver instead!

It was such a lovely trip, and of course, I’ll always have a major soft spot for Ireland. I’ll tell you a national secret too. Most English people love the Irish people, it is just such a shame that our governments just don’t seem to feel the same way sometimes.

Blarney Castle – I didn’t kiss the stone, I didn’t think I needed to.

Questions from Belle

  1. What makes you the happiest about your blog? – I love getting inspired by a word or a picture and letting my imagination run wild. I love writing stories and poems and sharing them with others. I love getting responses that indicate other people like what I am doing. It is all very gratifying. I have also loved the added bonus of meeting so many lovely and supportive people.
  2. What is your all time top goal? – Once I wanted to rule the world, I thought I could do a better job than the current World Order. Now I would be content to write and be published.

“The Mystery Blogger Award is an award for unique bloggers with witty messages. The blog not only captivates but inspires and motivates. They are one of the best bloggers that exist, and they deserve all the recognition they get. This award is also for bloggers who have fun and inspire people in their blogs; and they do it with love and passion.”

Creator: Okoto Enigma

The prize is called ‘Mystery Blogger Award’ because the meaning of ‘Enigma’ is ‘mystery’, so it bears the name of its creator. In addition, it is a very appropriate name because there are many blogs that are still a mystery for all of us and when we know them, they result in being extraordinary.

1. Put the award logo/image on your blog.

2. List the rules.

3. Thank whoever nominated you and provide a link to their blog. – Thanks, Sadje and Teresa. 🙂

4. Mention the creator of the award and provide a link as well.

5. Tell your readers 3 things about yourself.

6. You have to nominate 10- 20 people.

7. Notify your nominees by commenting on their blog.

8. Ask your nominees any 5 questions of your choice; with one weird or funny question (specify).

9.Share a link to your best post(s).

OK Three things about me:

  1. My eyes have different colours in them. Mainly pale blue but with a dark blue surround and a golden brown around the pupil, this is apparently quite unusual.
  2. I can list every President of the United States from 1900 to the present and I’m not American.
  3. I have never eaten Lobster.

Mel’s Questions for me:

  2. HAVE YOU MADE ANY CONFESSIONS IN YOUR BLOGGING POSTS ABOUT MOMENTS OF MADNESS IN YOUR LIFE OR TIMES YOU WERE ALMOST IN TROUBLE WITH THE AUTHORITIES? (I know that some of my nominees have shared a long list of their confessions already, so please do pick the most outrageous!) – I’ve mentioned this before by I once nearly got arrested for dancing in a pub carpark (someone reported me for behaving oddly) oh and I got a speeding ticket once. Apart from that I’ve either been really good, or not been caught yet, I’ll let you guess which. 🙂
  3. WHAT IS THE MOST UNUSUAL OR MEMORABLE DISH YOU HAVE EVER EATEN? I went to an Ethiopian restaurant in London not knowing what to expect and it was marvellous!
  6. HAVE YOU ANY EXPERIENCE OF ACTING, SPEAKING, SINGING OR DANCING ON A STAGE? I sing all the time. I am singing in a choir to collect money for a cat charity this Christmas. I once sang (at school) in the choir on stage at the Royal Festival Hall in London.
  7. APART FROM REMOVING ANY PARTICULAR POLITICIANS, IS THERE ANY ISSUE OR PROBLEM IN THIS WORLD THAT YOU FEEL PASSIONATELY YOU WOULD LIKE TO CHANGE? – I would like people to be able to argue from opposing views without making personal attacks. We don’t have to think the same to be friends and if we think differently, that doesn’t have to make us enemies.
  8. IF I WERE TO MAKE YOU YOUR DREAM CAKE – WHAT WOULD THAT CAKE BE? – I like a nice plain sponge with apple and cream filling and No icing because I think that is sickly
  9. WHAT WOULD YOU LOVE TO SEE ON THE FRONT PAGE OF THE NEWSPAPERS TOMORROW MORNING? (other than than any particular politician being abducted by aliens) –  Universal Cure for Cancer found.

Sadje’s Questions:

1. what is the more important thing for you, your day job or blogging? – Well currently I am on a Hiatus from working, if anyone out there would like to give me a job, then let me know 😉 so the answer is Blogging.

2. What are your plans for the coming year? – Getting a job. Writing more stuff. I have a planned holiday/vacation to Derbyshire for a long weekend at the end of January.

3. Has any of your blog post has received a surprise response? – I am surprised and pleased whenever i get a response. I’ve had a couple of responses asking me when I’m going to get published, which is nice.

4. A cat or dog, which one you have as a pet or would like to? – I’d love a chicken friendly dog.

5. What is one habit you want to give up? – I’m in a good place at the moment, the only thing would be worrying. I worry too much .

The Rules:

1.Thank the blogger/s who nominated you.

2.Use the “Sunshine Blogger Award” logo on your post and list the rules.

3.Answer the 11 questions the selector asks of you.

4.Nominate 11 bloggers you want to give the award to.

5.Ask the bloggers 11 questions of your own.

So firstly, Thank you very much, Sadje, for your kind nomination. It was great finding out more about you and thank you for finding my blog and leaving your lovely, supportive comments. It is much appreciated. 🙂

Sadje’s Questions

What made you start blogging?

I started blogging because I had just started doing a creative writing course, and the flow of my writing had gone from a trickle to writing something every day. I wanted a place I could keep all the stuff I had written in the past and was now writing in greater amounts. I also wanted to seek feedback and answers to the question I had thus far been too scared to ask – Am I any Good?

Do your friends and family support you in this?

Friends and family have been supportive. Occasionally one will read a poem or story and tell me they liked it, but they do not ‘follow’ my blog or read much of it. I have found the most supportive and encouraging people have been my fellow bloggers. That has been the greatest surprise to me, I never thought I would find so many fantastic people blogging. I owe a lot to this blogging community on WordPress. Thanks must go to, to WordPress itself for creating a blog format that even I could use. 🙂

Which is your favourite time of the day?

I like mid mornings. I am neither an early bird nor a night owl. I like 9am – 12pm and I also like early evenings 5pm – 8pm. Those are my most productive hours.

What would be your dream vacation?

I have been lucky to have lots of lovely holidays. They usually involved being able to catch up with friends that I don’t see as often as I would like. A friend of mine lives in Melbourne, Australia and she is a musician. A few years ago she was invited to perform on a cruise ship that was going round the Baltic sea stopping in Stockholm, Copenhagen, Helsinki and St. Petersburg. I decided to book on the cruise, and we had a wonderful time exploring and I spent time with my friend and her husband.

I have never been to the South Island of New Zealand to that would be a dream. Also, I’d quite like to see Canada. I have also made a few blogging friends in the States so It might be fun to say hi to them.

One of my favourite places in the world is the Isle of Wight. That is my happy place.

What genre of movies you like best?

I love comedies, but clever ones, I’m not so much into slapstick. I love musicals and I love a fantasy story, something that takes you on a journey. I don’t like Horror, or films that a very gritty. I also prefer a happy ending. I want to be made to feel better by a film, not wallow in misery and despair.

What are your strengths and weaknesses?

I’m British, so I don’t really like talking about strengths, it sound so big-headed. I would like my strengths to be that people enjoy my company, I make them laugh, I would like another strength to be my writing, but I think that it is best for others to say if that is or not. My weaknesses are more than I can say in this blog. I talk too much. I am a coward. I fear everything and my own fear prevents me from being a better person.

Are you an emotional person?

I try my best to keep a British ‘Stiff-upper lip’ but Underneath that I am a seething mass of emotions. I am very emotional, far too emotional.

What motivates you in life and writing?

A desire to be the best person I can be. I am motivated to learn. My motivation for writing is that I have so many ideas buzzing round in my head, I have just got to get some of them down on paper, or on screen.

What sort of friend are you to your pals?

One that when you make an effort to contact me, I will pick up where we left off. I will make you laugh and I will entertain you. I am terrible at keeping in touch. I do not respond straight away to text messages or emails. I do normally respond eventually.

Have you written poetry as well?

I write poetry and prose. I write stories all the time, but only write poetry when the inspiration takes hold of me. I need more motivation to write poetry than I do a story. I have to be in the right frame of mind.

Being happy or peaceful, what is more important to you?

I think both are intrinsically linked. I couldn’t be happy in a noisy and chaotic environment. I am happiest when at peace. I am at peace when I am happy. 🙂

My Nominations

This is the bit I find so hard. The hardest thing of all. I have so many blogging friends out there, some like these awards and some do not. Some feel that these awards are too time consuming and I do not want to put anyone under pressure. I owe a great deal to my followers and so If any one of my followers read this and want to take part in this, consider yourselves nominated. I couldn’t do what I do without YOU.

I think that Sadje has asked some excellent questions and so I will ask a few of my own but feel free to pick your eleven from some of mine or some of Sadje’s you can mix and match as you feel fit. 🙂

Some Extra Questions to Choose From:

  1. What elements/ aspects of Fantasy or Sci-Fi do you want to be real?
  2. Which Actor or Actress who has never won an Oscar do you think should have?
  3. Is there a moment in History that you wish you could go back and witness to find out what really happened?
  4. Who has inspired you the most?
  5. If you could keep any animal as a pet (and have all the things they needed to be happy) what animal would it be?
  6. Would you rather go to a big party and rub shoulders with the rich and famous or go to an amazing quiet Garden that hardly anyone has ever visited?
  7. Do you plan things in advance or take life as it comes?
  8. When reading a book what normally encourages you to keep reading?
  9. When reading or watching a film, what things would make you ‘switch off’?
  10. Do you connect most with evil characters or good ones?
  11. Name a character from a book or movie that you really connected with and understood.

OK. That should keep you busy. If you decide to take part in this, please link to me so I can read them.

I have taken this opportunity to broadcast to the blogosphere a bit more about me and maybe shed some misconceptions or at least some of my secrecy. 🙂

Thanks to Sadje again for the Nomination and Thank you for reading this. Have a great day everyone. 🙂

Sunshine Blogger – Answering Life’s Questions

A Guy Called Bloke has nominated me for this award. There has been a spate of these at the moment and so I am going to be radical by breaking the rules.

If you aren’t already following A Guy Called Bloke, you should be because he is fantastic. He writes some great poetry and has lots of competitions and quizzes and helps to raise your profile by reblogging unless you ask him not to, he’s a real gent.

Check out his blog here:

The Sunshine Blogger Award Nomination 2018 6 & 7

Here are the Rules that I’m breaking:

The Rules

  • Thank the blogger/s who nominated you.  – I’m doing that one, Thanks, Rory.
  • Use the “Sunshine Blogger Award” logo on your post and list the rules. – I’m doing that one too, I’m quite a rule taker really.
  • Answer the 11 questions the selector asks of you. – yes,  I am going to do that.
  • Nominate 5-11 bloggers you want to give the award to. – Nope, not going to, so there 😉
  • Ask  11 questions of your own. – Nope, not going to do that either, call your lawyer 😉

The Questions:

What’s the most fun you have ever had without being under the influence of something or someone?

A. Well, I do rather enjoy a nice cup of tea and a slice of cake.

What’s the most fun you have ever had without the obvious, naked?

A. Got to be Tea and Cake again. I had Afternoon Tea at Brown’s Hotel in Piccadilly once. That was lovely, and we were fully clothed or it would have caused rather a stir. Naked afternoon tea hasn’t caught on to my knowledge, maybe I’m not frequenting the right, or WRONG, places.

What’s the most fun you have ever had whilst under the influence of something or someone?

A. I am often influenced to have a cup of tea. Did I mention I’m rather partial to it? You could say I’m under the influence of Caffeine too, I suppose.

What’s the stupidest question l have ever asked of you?

A. There are no Stupid questions, only people like me who are stupid enough to try to answer them.

What’s the question you want to answer but no one yet, even me has not yet asked you?

A. Would you like a part-time job writing for my magazine? That would be quite nice.

What’s your suggestion for the Christmas Challenge?

A. My suggestion would be an Advent calendar and behind each door is a random Christmassy themed picture and people have to write a short poem or story, 250-word maximum.

What is the craziest blog you have ever read, and l don’t mean mine?

A. Well, the blogosphere is full of uniquely wonderful people and blogs and I wouldn’t call any of them crazy, just different. 🙂

What is the theory of what is?

A. If it exists, then it is and if it doesn’t, it’s isn’t.

What is the colour red when mixed with Tripping the Light Fantastic?

A. Probably some kind of pale pink or lavender, that’s what happens when I put something red in the washing machine, anyway.

What is the answer to the Dodo, like seriously why?

A. I’d go back in time and make sure it knows not to approach any Portuguese sailors. I’d try and teach it to fly too. Or I may bring a couple back with me to start a new breeding programme.

And finally, what is the answer to this riddle?

A. There is no answer, there are only more questions, such is life.

This is the bit where I break the rules. There have been a lot of these going around, so if you would like to take part in this, please take up the baton and consider yourself nominated.

I am not going to set any questions either. Answer Rory’s great questions above, or you can imagine all the great questions that you’d like to be asked and make-believe I asked them.

Have a Great Day Everyone. 🙂

Sunshine Blogger Award Nomination

YAY! It’s been a while and I am over the moon and cock a hoop to have been nominated for this award by Jay-Lyn over at the Wonderful and Wacky World of One Single Mom.

If you haven’t already done so, I recommend you click on the link below and visit her wonderful and wacky world. 🙂

The rules are:

• Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link back to them.
• Answer the 11 questions asked by the blogger who nominated you.
• Nominate 11 other bloggers and ask them 11 new questions.
• Notify the nominees by commenting on one of their blog posts.
• List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo on your post.

So here we go:

  1. Do you believe in true love?
  2. Summer or Winter?
  3. If you could travel anywhere in the world where would it be?
  4. Have you ever sat in your car and cried for no reason other than being sad?
  5. Science Fiction or Fantasy?
  6. If you could be any fantasy character what type would you be?
  7. If you discovered the secret to slowing down the aging process would you use it?
  8. Walking through the forest you come upon a large tree with a door in it, do you open the door?
  9. If you opened the door in the above question what did you find?
  10. If you did not open the door in question 8 why not?
  11. Favorite all time Halloween costume.

My answers as follows:

  1. Yes, I do. Call me an old softy, but I do believe in true love and love at first sight, but I also believe that it is not the be all and end all. If you find someone who makes you happy, then love can grow too. Don’t ditch it because you don’t think it’s true love and spend the rest of your life searching when you already had something great.
  2. Both Summer and Winter have the positives and negatives for me. My favourite season is Spring because it isn’t too hot nor too cold and everything is coming back to life, the daffodils and crocuses are flowering and often the promise of summer is better than its reality.
  3. I often dream that in my lifetime they could invent teleportation because I hate flying. I would love to visit the South Island of New Zealand. I’ve done the North Island but never the South. I would also like to visit Macchu Picchu, The Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls and Iceland…. to name just a few. 🙂
  4. Yes. I sometimes find myself feeling sad for no apparent reason, but I try to focus on happy stuff or play my happy playlist (which I shared with you all on previous posts) to help shift my brain back into a more positive zone.
  5. I prefer fantasy fiction to Sci-Fi. I love anything to do with magic. Even Star Wars, which is a meld of the two genres I like because of ‘the force’ and the Jedi and Sith, which is pure fantasy in a Sci-Fi setting.
  6. I would always be the Wizard or Magic user. Even when I was a very young child I always wanted to be the Magic one with a beard. My cousin still reminds me that I would say “You can be the Warrior and I’ll be Merlin” when I was about six years old.
  7. Would I slow down the Ageing process if I could? Well if there were no repercussions, for example, looking younger but being in constant pain, then yes I would. It would be even better if I could share it would the people I love too. What’s the point in living forever if you constantly watch your loved ones die. If i could share it around, then Brilliant.
  8. Yep. I don’t think I could resist. Also, I love trees, so I would probably want to move in and live there.
  9. I found a home, with a library full of books and a kitchen and a note saying “I have left this place, please move in and look after it for me until I come back”.
  10. I did, I wouldn’t be able to cope with the constant ‘what if’ if I hadn’t opened it.
  11. Favourite all-time Halloween costume? I once went to a fancy dress party as a cross between a Vampire and Adam Ant – for those who don’t know who Adam Ant is I have included a link below. I remember getting served very quickly at the bar for the first (and last) time ever!

My Questions:

  1. Do you like Halloween?
  2. What method of murder do you most like to see in films/movies?
  3. Horror or Comedy?
  4. What’s your favourite thing to do with a pumpkin?
  5. If you could choose between ruling the world or living in paradise which would you choose?
  6. What human trait do you like the most?
  7. Which human trait do you dislike the most?
  8. If we discovered an inhabitable planet and had the option to start a new life there, would you?
  9. Do you believe in ghosts? If yes, have you had an experience you’d like to share?
  10. Have you ever had a recurring Nightmare? Share it with us, if so.
  11. If you had to remove either Halloween or Christmas from the calendar so no one could celebrate it ever again, which would you choose?

Sunshine Blogger Award Nomination

I have been nominated by Thought for Change at the Rendezvous club for this award. Please click on the link below and explore her fantastic blog:

She writes some lovely poetry, see here for an example:

The Rules

  1. Thank the person that nominated you. (Thank YOU Thought for Change 🙂 )
  2. Link the post back to them.
  3. Display the picture on your post.
  4. Answer their questions.
  5. Nominate 10 bloggers.
  6. Provide 11 questions for your nominees.

 Questions Asked:

1. Have you ever tried to impress someone and failed miserably?

All the time. I always want to make the best impression possible. I smile a lot and I think I try too hard and a lot of people just think “Oh he’s just a shallow people pleaser”.

2. One thing that you never ever wanna do?

Lots of these. I would never want to Bungee Jump or walk across Sydney Harbour Bridge or do anything involving heights.

3. How much do you enjoy blogging?

A huge amount more than I ever thought possible. I find it incredibly rewarding and I have made some lovely friends in the blogging community, which I never expected to do.

4. What’s the best ever blog post that you’ve ever read?

That would be like trying to describe my favourite flower in the whole garden.

I have been blown away by the variety and wealth of talent out there. I’ve enjoyed reading emotional stories that people have written as part of their therapy. I’ve enjoyed flash fiction and also some amazing poetry. I also love stories that make me laugh. I’ve read some great ones.

5. If you could’ve been a superhero who would you be?

I would like to be my own superhero who is blessed with great wisdom and the ability to teleport themselves and others through time and space.

6. Are you an obsessive thinker? If yes why do you think so?

YES. I think all the time. I worry all the time. What if I did this and then they said that, what if they won’t do this. I worry about every decision ever made and whether I would have made the same decision and what would happen if I did something else. I have redrawn world boundaries based on my own thoughts of what they should be. I have changed history in my head based on my own ideas of what the correct outcome should have been. I think constantly, which is why I never feel like I can relax or sleep properly.

7. Which is the one animal which you are most afraid of?

I have a phobia or spiders, but I think if I came face to face with a Tiger, that would be pretty scary.

8. If you were given a chance to meet any three of your fellow blogging friends who would that be and why?

Haha. I would like to meet The Britchy One from Bitchin in the Kitchen, because she makes me laugh. I would like to meet Rory from A Guy Called Bloke, even though he says he gets on better with people over the computer rather than real life. We have collaborated on a few things and I think he’s great. There are so many people who I speak to on the Blogosphere that I think, hey it would be great to catch up over a nice cup of tea. Probably the third would be Kristian from Life Lessons around the Dinner Table, because she shares the same name and she sounds really fab. I think we’d have a right laugh.

9. What is your craziest dream/ wish?

Because I am a control freak and worrier and I spent so much time worrying about the world, I’d like to be absolute benign dictator of the world and sort things out. Then give power back to the people in a truly democratic system without corruption.

I’d also like a dog, it’s not crazy but it’s a lot more realistic and healthy.

10. What’s your favorite food?

Beans on Toast with a bit of grated Cheddar cheese. I could eat it for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

11. What’s your most favorite word?

My favourite word changes with every passing thought.

Right now, Bliss is my favourite but that will change.

I’m rather fond of Verisimilitude, Procrastination and Perspicacity.

My Findings for the Attention of Inspector Kruseau – 3C Style
