Twittering Tales -The Reckoning.

She felt butterflies in her middle and an intense heat that made sweat roll down her back.

She used to think sweat was sensual, remembering a steamy night when Steve came to talk but left her so emotional.

The headlights pierced through the blinds and she faced her future.

As Jenny faced a wall of code, her breath quickened in fervid fashion. This was no time for reserve, she knew what to do.

She pushed forward youthful hands and entered the digital world, where she’d be a technological giant.

To become one with technology is to rule the world.

Twittering Tales – Conquering the Dragon

Mashup of photos by pendleburyannette (dragon) & MichaelGaida (forest) at Pixabay.com

It was a crazy initiation,

Fight the dragon, impress the nation,

but something sporadic, unplanned,

Happened that shocked the land.

They sent a novice, a raw beginner

But oddly, he returned the winner

He didn’t fight, attack or defend,

He talked to the Dragon and made him a friend.

Twittering Tales – Out of Space

Photo by Felipe Ribeiro at Pexels.com

I was gazing at the stars when, like something out of the Twilight Zone, a UFO flashed towards me across the sky. A light beam picked me up as if I weighed less than a pebble and I was on the spaceship looking down at Earth.

“You’re our Slave now,” said a voice from the dark.

Twittering Tales – A Dangerous Lady

The lady stepped out of her spacious hotel and hailed a cab. Instantly they lined up for her custom.  People called her Aphrodite. She always appeared kind but she was on the prowl for someone to manipulate. Who shall it be this time, a Chief Exec or maybe a President?

They’d been stuck on the island for seven years. At first, they’d hated each other. She thought he had a massive chip on his shoulder and he thought she was terribly stuck up.

It was only when the helicopter came to rescue them, did they realise they never wanted to be apart.

She sat under an umbrella, her pale body sheathed in fine linen with bare skin smothered in sun-cream.

She gazed at the young and foolish who camp out burning in the full sun.

A few laughed at the young girl covered from head to toe.

She had the last laugh; she was nearly fifty.

It was a beautiful spot; Couples arrived at the secluded pool through a candle-lit passage. He’d had to scout hard to find the opening at the top.

Since she’d rejected him, he’d planned his revenge. The click of the trigger echoed in that bowl-shaped hollow. So did the screams.

He was charming and handsome, yet when he invited her to his apartment amongst the rowdy throng, she felt repulsed.

His gold wedding ring glinted tellingly. No doubt it would be the old saga of a wife that doesn’t understand him.

She needed an escape, after all, he was the boss.

As they stood in the kitchen, they let the wine flow, celebrating a murder well executed.

The body of their old orphanage matron, called The Dragon, had been a sight to behold.

Tom noticed Tee-An. She wasn’t happy. She’ll give the game away. She’d have to be the next to go.
